Wipeout on PSVR1 was such a great experience, for a free update to a collection of games that were never intended to be in VR it felt like they'd always meant to be played that way.
Sony get your finger out and port it to PSVR2.

If you're getting simulator sickness then do yourself a favour and onboard yourself to the world of VR through something sedate. Things like Moss, where your head is a camera in a fixed vignette, stuff like that are good bets. You'll be glad you did.
I know it's tempting to go in on the big guns, but if you're susceptible it can get really bad. In the Rift devkit days - and even CV1 and Vive - a bad session would knock me on my arse for several hours, and even after I got my "VR legs" it could still catch me out.

Mine went away pretty quick. I felt ill the first few times I tried it, by about 10 or so hours I could play absolutely anything fine.

I remember when I first got PSVR1 I used that sort of mech game from VR Worlds to try and make myself sick by jumping quickly between the ceiling and onto the ground, was fine.
The only time I couldn't play something was Arizona Sunshine in co-op, the frame rate would be so variable I just couldn't stomach it, literally.

I miss RIGS. That was my favourite multiplayer game for ages but it just never took off. The player base was too small for it to survive, but it was the perfect Titanfall-as-a-sport game.

I have needed to take a break from the PSVR2 every 30 mins or so - do feel a tad weird but that's because I haven't done VR properly for a year or so.

Yeah, I would very much recommend not diving into anything fast paced out of the gate. Stationary games should be the start point like Beat Sabre, move onto cockpit games (maybe something a little slower than GT7 to begin with), then into some full motion controller controlled games. I'm fortunate to not suffer from VR sickness too much, but I can feel a bit yuck if I haven't played for a while. Only time I've felt really shit was playing a weird indie game called Albino Lullaby that I think wasn't running at a good frame rate and was clearly not tailored well for VR. Crappy feeling lingered for a few hours afterwards as well. Not sure how much testing has actually been done on VR motion sickness. Would be interesting to find out how common it actually is.

I struggle with free movement in games but oddly on star wars squadrons I could fly like a lunatic and not be bothered at all.
Squadrons is fucking amazing in vr as well

Surprised ea didnt get a psvr2 version ready for launch as it would have been a good showcase for the new headset and got some more sales of the game.

I did throw myself into the proper games and Iām now suffering the consequences. But no pain no gain. Think Iāll just stick to Moss tomorrow though.

At least this is confirming that I shouldn't bother with this. My motion sickness is too strong. I get sick if I read in a car.

This might be worth the price of admission if I can actually train myself out of my crippling motion sickness. Even my daughter is rinsing me for being such a fanny recently.

Iāve never had an issue myself but there are definitely two camps for VR - you either get over it pretty quickly and adapt, or you never do and it gathers dust. Aside from some games that are just uncomfortable all round, Iāve never found anyone with a middle ground of āthis is ok but this absolutely ruins meā

It's weird, the boy really struggles with motion sickness. 10 mins in the car and he's feeling it already. But VR doesn't seem to bother him.

He gets car sick like crazy yet can spend forever on Gorilla Tag with his mates and isn't bothered. Me on the other hand still can't last longer than 10 mins on his VR.

AC Syndicate has been fixed on ps5 at last. If you have not played it is a great AC game and the last of the more "traditional" AC's

So me and the the boy like playing Battlefield. We flit between Battlefield 1 and V and very much enjoy it. He's better than me by far, but we do alright together, getting top squad on a semi regular basis. It's more him than me that likes it but as it's something we can do together, I'm happy to play it with him.
Had our eye on Battlefield 2042 for a while and our interest was piqued with the latest patch. So, he's been doing really well at school recently, as well as putting serious effort in to other things and thought I would treat him. Wander in to pubeland and grab two copies, thirty quid - because he doesn't want to play it without me.
Yesterday. Literal hours before it's announced as a PSPlus game for next month.
Fucking lol.

Ha yeah, only it's a full refund to a CEX voucher. Naturally.
That sums my day up yesterday.
Although as the boy tells me over breakfast this morning: "It made me happy when you gave me the box and now it's mine. Besides, you bought it because you wanted to so it makes no difference if it's now free or not".
Tell you, he's wiser than I am.
