Its really weird when you get a game that's coming from one of the best studios out there and people are expecting it to be shit. Especially as we have barely seen anything from it other than a couple of trailers and a screenshot. I think it's more due to how little we've seen and heard about this coupled with the fact that this is their first game in 8 years which brings an enormous amount of expectation, also the fact that it's a 3rd person shooter and is co-op above everything else, which is not what people were expecting from a studio known for their single player games, you can see why people are more than a little hesitant. When you add all this to the screenshot with all the trappings of GaaS, and I'm not saying it is, but it's made a lot of alarm bells go off. If it isn't then I suspect just like Gotham Knights it was a GaaS before the reception to Marvel's Avengers made everyone stop and rethink things over.

Then you cannot be disappointed with anything.

As someone who bought Arkham Knight on PC at launch, from GMG so I couldn't refund it, there's no way I'm going to be anything but cautious.
For those who don't remember it was pulled from Steam for four months because it was a clusterfuck of a release.

Oh I remember that clusterfuck. I think it was due to Iron Galaxy barely getting any time or help from WB to finish it in time, because it was developed primarily around the unified memory of the new consoles which was quite a new thing at the time.

I think I had the pc version and was lucky enough to be able to get it to run well enough to play it. Definitely my least favourite of the trilogy though.

The VR thing just got delivered. I'm off work at around 2, but did put it on and felt up the controllers.
Compared to VR1, the padding is completely different on the headset, very soft and squishy. Maybe at least it won't flake after a couple of years. I had to tighten it with the dial, I never did it with the original, even a tiny turn would make my head hurt immediately.
The controllers are really cool and tiny. With the Valve Index, you get the strap around your hand so you can let go completely, here if you let go the orb kind of keeps them in place, but not really.
From an ergonomics point of view it's an obvious win.

Mine arrived this morning, but only had the time to unbox it and put the controllers on charge. Will give it a proper look tonight (hopefully!).

Had a quick go, GT7 looks fantastic but might have made me a little motion sick. Standing up on other things I’m fine.
Let my 3 year old try the headset on (just stationary looking around) for about 30 seconds which was funny.

Quite a few people on fb saying they are a little underwhelmed with the quality of clarity but apparently there’s some 120 settings update? Will give my impressions when home

I think the sweet spot is fairly narrow - no different really to my CV1 in that regard. Tried RE:Village and that was pretty good (really bloody creepy in VR - never played the pancake version). Comfort wise it's ok. I wear glasses with a low prescription and it felt a little unweildy in the headset - downward pressure on the bridge of the nose. I'd love some specific lenses to add to the headset. I just need to get used to it. It's smaller than I thought it would be and the passthrough is a godsend. Downloading Kayak and Horizon at the moment. Will get more as time goes on - I'd love Demeo but not sure what the community is like as I don't have any mates with a PSVR 2.

Will all of you, please, stop bumping this thread in relation to PSVR2? My resistance levels are low...

Definitely. Two threads we can talk about PSVR2 in.
I had a thing yesterday where the LED backlights in my TV were flickering like mad, only on the ps5 though. An online suggestion was to unplug the tv to completely power it down, then restart. It fixed the issue.

So I’m slightly underwhelmed also with the clarity but I think it’s more my eyes than the device itself . It’s a big improvement though.
On the calibration my eyes never look fully centre of the circles and slight to the edge of centre. So I’m probably special! Spec savers perhaps is needed .
Just played todays gt7 sport rally race though and it’s possible the best gaming experience I’ve had in years !

Wasn't going to bother with Horizon but the Nextlander stream of it looked pretty great.

Hmmmm. My first meaningful experience with VR and it’s mind blowing…but…the motion sickness is real.
Kayaking was bearable but GT7 quickly made me feel super queasy.
I’m hoping you get used to it. Also I’m not sure it was properly calibrated for GT as it was all a bit blurry which probably didn’t help.

The sickness gets better the more you use it. Racing games and stuff should be left until you've got a few hours under your belt, much better to start with more static things. The PSVR worlds released with the first one was a good entry point.

The PSVR worlds released with the first one was a good entry point. Certainly matches what I’ve found so far. Stuff where I’m stuff pretty much still, like Job Simulator, it’s perfectly ok. GT7 I lasted about a lap before I got a bit uncomfortable with it. The upside is I was so bad in VR on GT7 that I might not want to play that way anyway. Top Gun Maverick with a massive VR screen is at least as good as the cinema. Just got to see if 2 hours is too long or not.

You can get tablets which a lot of people have had success with

Unfortunately the notion of VR legs isn't true for everyone and VR motion sickness remains a issue. Have several friends who sold their headsets as anything other than stationary games made them feel awful. I'm ok with static games but motion does me in in short order. Big reason why I'm reluctant to spunk £600 on PSVR2 as much as I find VR incredible I just feel my body can only handle less than half the titles available.
It's why when I read comments like "I'd love to be able to play COD in VR" I usually think "I bet you've never tried playing a twitchy fps in VR before".

Wipeout Omega on the PSVR 1 was my first realization that VR racing was actually the future. It's astonishing, so I can only imagine what GT7 is like on this new headset. So so tempting, but the PSVR 1 is covered in so much dust now, I know it will be an expensive fad for me.
Hmm, maybe I'll go back into Wipeout tonight.... I'm sure that'll cure me of the temptation.

The space mining game on the first one really made my stomach turn over.
Most things were ok, but that one really got me.
