I agree although at a young age it doesn’t seem to take much for it to seem a bit scary or just something they don’t want to watch. So many things I’ve seen before being a parent I thought would be ok then having had kids I can tell which ones have been made by people that either don’t have kids of that age or didn’t care.
Think it was the paw patrol film where there’s so much in there about influencers and selfies. There’s such a large part of the target audience that will have no idea what they’re on about.

Dads club hive mind, a quick query for you. Half tempted to let my lad see john wick after he's been banging on about it. There's nothing too gruesome that I remember at any rate, suitable for a nearly 16 year old urchin? I reckon it probably is. I'd seen terminator and aliens by about then. 14 yr old was asking about it yesterday, after seeing a trailer. Advised against it as it's fucking rubbish. I ask him for film advice to be fair, he's probably watched every example of the zombie genre available worldwide, something of an expert.

Whaaat? John Wick 1-3 are all decent IMO!
Diminishing returns as it goes on, but still fun enough to watch in a brain off, vidya games stylee.
I'm quite tempted to try Trainspotting soon too, but worry a little about the drugs are fun aspects there, albeit in amongst all the drugs are not fun stuff.

I guess I'm kind of looking to find something to replace the cornetto trilogy which I enjoyed introducing him to last year. It lets him have a bit of a laugh and open up and chat about other shit than the usual grunts and mumbling we get the rest of the time!

By nearly 16, pretty much anything goes really imo. Perhaps aside from the more.l unsettling horrors.

But dad I hate subtitles.
You won't need them for Serbian film son.

Best to get the unsettling horrors out the way early while you are still too young to understand why they are scary

My boy wasn’t supposed turn up for another week but he’s a month old now. Just checking this is correct - when he kicks off you… 1) Shove a bottle in his face to see if he’s hungry. 2) Slap him on the back repeatedly to see if he’s got trapped wind 3) Change his nappy because he will definitely have shat himself 4) attempt to humour and comfort him with that thing you humans call love. 5) Avoid the temptation to rugby kick him next door and instead wake up Mrs Shark as it’s her problem now. Ours is 7 weeks, and I can confirm most, but not all of that flowchart. Sometimes after 2 you need to go back to 1, and sometimes 3 has happened but you carry on feeding, as doing 3 while she's hungry is asking for trouble. Also, prepare to do 3 straight after 3, but if you're lucky not while you were halfway through the first 3.

My 15 year old has been up all night throwing up, since around 6pm. Been pretty lucky on that front, but was pretty scary at 2am when she was still throwing up green and yellow bile and looking so pale and was feinting.
Phoned 111 at that point, but 15 hour wait for a callback (so still haven't got it). We never really use doctors, the NHS is really is in dire straits. You never really know until you have to access it.
She stopped around 4am and hasn't been sick yet, so hopefully over it. Poor thing looks so pale.
Still don't know what caused it. Probably food poisoning?

Yeah or stomach bug. Keep her fluids up. She'll probably puke again once she eats or even drinks something. Hopefully 111 get back to you, but I wouldn't worry unless it continues and doesn't ease up at all.

Yeah, I think she's getting over it now. She's in the bath now, and I can hear her chatting with her mum.
Was a bit concerned as well because she has a low white blood cell count, which she's taking medication for, so her immune system isn't very good.
Not felt like eating yet but she has sipped water. We've got a bowl on standby 😅

Lucozade and marmite on toast when I was a kid. Or Heinz cream of tomato soup.
We had a Sunday night trip to A&E with my 4yr old after telling 111 how high his temperature is. 4 hours in the hospital to get some antibiotics and told to Calpol him up.
Temperature is down but, as promised by the doctor, the antibiotics have him shitting jets of brown water every hour. Went through 7 outfits yesterday and he’s on his 3rd already this morning.
He’s perfectly well in every other way now so he’s climbing the walls and getting frustrated with being stuck indoors. Its good he’s not burning up anymore but the current situation is way harder to manage.

Yeah kids are so resilient. I was contemplating an A & E trip in the middle of the night too.
If it was us, we'd be knocked out for a week feeling sorry for ourselves.

My middle child (12yo) got a sickness bug while we were on a break with the extended family in the middle of nowhere. He couldn’t keep anything down for 18 hours straight. By hour 12 we were really concerned about dehydration, he had all the signs. Fortunately we had a GP (sister-in-law) and nurse (his mum) with us, so we knew what 111 would tell us to do and did it anyway.
I had to sit with a cup of water and a kids 5ml medicine syringe and give him 10ml of water every 10 minutes. Then when he wasn’t sick for an hour, upped it to 15ml, then finally 20ml/20mins. Had to stay up all night doing it, and keep waking him up, but it worked and probably avoided a long drive to A&E

I don’t think 111 has ever done anything other than send us to A&E but then if you’re calling with a sick preschooler they probably don’t want to take any chances.
I think he’s finally stopped shitting himself now. Haven’t had to give him a change of pants and trousers since 10 or 11 this morning after needing to do it basically hourly through the day yesterday.
Even he was crying saying it felt like “hot wee” coming out his bum yesterday. I think my fingers might be permanently stained from reapplying Metanium so often too.

Dougs you do have to vary the amount according to weight and age, there’s a chart you can consult, I am not a doctor etc etc but yeah, I certainly learned something

Middle child (6) vomited on the way to school today. On and off bouts since. Between the bouts though she’s absolutely fine, charging around playing. When I get one I’m laid up for 2 days wishing for death. To be a child again

Baby Shark got his vaccinations today. Going to be a long weekend while it all works through his system. To top it all the missus' family are visiting so have to put a smily face on while elbow deep in baby runs.

It’s been pretty horrible. He’s very uncomfortable- probably in quite a bit of pain. He’s not the best feeder at the best of times but at points he’s been screaming the house down and been especially grisly. I think it’s all to be expected but It’s putting us through the wringer.

You can take them at the same time cuz they have different ingredients and do different things, you don’t need to space them out.
Paracetamol is good for getting temps down with ibuprofen on top for the muscle cramps and whatnot.
