Would encourage anyone who hasn't got it yet to pick up AMS2 now. The base game is under £10 at Cdkeys and the DLC is at historical lows in the Steam sale. The developers deserve support for continually making improvements and adding content. In most cars, the handling and FFB are now on a par with Race Room and ACC (i.e. as good as you'll find). It's all very easy and faff free too. Stock setups are generally pretty sensible, I've had no crashes or outrageous bugs either. All just works. Currently doing a Brazilian F3 Championship and the Dallara F309 is superb. Nimble, predictable and can be steered using the throttle and brake as you'd expect. The lesser known Brazilian tracks are decent too. Lots of imaginative elevation changes and challenging corners (Interlagos is representative of the others). The 90s Indycars from the US DLC are great as well, chucking them around Long Beach, brushing the walls is so immersive. Ranked multiplayer and a single player career mode supposedly coming this year. Its been upated lately and getting more praise about the handling. Nice to see the Brazilian team behind it get the Project Cars 2 engine and let loose with local licenses.

Nice, there is a thread As mentioned in the other thread I've got a playseat challenge and awaiting the T300 Ferrari Alacantra wheel. Got the following installed on the PS5: Project Cars 2 GT Sport Dirt Rally 2.0 Drive Club Assetto Corsa I also have a gaming laptop so I guess I'm also after pc only racers. Bit out of the loop in this regard? I know I should be getting AC on pc due to the major modding community. What else my fellow racers?

Anyone every tried to put a bigger wheel on a ,920 before? Been considering it as I find the stock one quite uncomfortable.
This looks easy, is it?

Just had a mess around with my laptop hooked up to my LG CX and gave raceroom a try. That's another one to add to the list. Totally forgot I have F1 2021 on steam as well. Never installed it lol.
Is there a free trial for iracing or is it just a case of paying for a month?

First time you can get 3 months for $20, use a different name if your bothered about real name use in game. Also leave iracing until you tried the rest. It can be costly but just have a go at the free MX5 and Formula Vee, also oval, dirt and others have rookie seasons with free tracks on the rotation.
When I decided it was for me I bought the Nurbergring and the skippy and just practised happily for a few weeks. Now I get a year sub on black friday for around £80.

Sorry when you say free MX5 etc is that instead of the monthly sub or do I pay and get what you mentioned free? Yeah I will be trying it last anyway.

Spent the afternoon on a friend’s rig. Wheel, pedals, hot seat, curved screen, but no shifter. The arsehole haptics are better than I thought they’d be. Really sells the throb of the engine and the surface types. Whole shebang was probably a good six or seven grand of kit. And now my life feels bereft and empty.

Pay the monthly sub and get a bunch free cars and tracks including MX5 so you can run a full season of MX5 as it uses only free tracks as far as I am aware. Manage to get out of Rookie (top tip, start the back don't fight anyone and you will end up top 5) you will get a D licence and Skippys are free but uses more paid tracks and your wallet starts to cry.

Yeah Gruf was right, pay for membership and a bunch of content (based around rookie leagues) involves all free tracks. The skippy is paid for, Formula Vee is now the rookie open seater. www.iracing.com/cars-type/free/
A season is over 12 weeks of 1 track a week and in the skippys 4 tracks a season are free tracks, I think it works out the same with most class D leagues.

Yeah, low downforce all mechanical grip and very little of that, developed by Skip Barber for his driving schools, terrific grounding before moving to other cars with some actual grunt.

I think the skippy is where I want to stay, apart from the odd asshole it's nice and pleasent racing near the 2000 irating mark. I'm not the best in anything else but do like going in vr with the 2021 merc f1 car and others I bought. Also oval racing is fine and a good laugh. youtu.be/ZoF_240d6Tg

A youtube channel called grim reapers has amazing hotas set up guides and thats me on DCS in one of the more basic planes, not a study level monster. I learnt to fly and race during the time that was posted April 2020.
VR gives me headaches if I'm flying or racing as much as I want, went for triple 1080p freesync monitors by May 2020, meh covid times.

Fucking balls. Overclockers have messed my T300 order up and it's now OOS and I can't get it anywhere else. FFS. What other options do I have?
EDIT: Managed to source one from scan. Not the Ferrari one but the RS GT Edition.

Quickly got the wheel setup during my break and had a quick try on AC and Dirt Rally 2. Holy fucking shit I could not control the latter at all. I haven't made any adjustments yet though. Will have a mess tonight. Couple of awful pics ibb.co/nm9TzC4ibb.co/jVYR523

Dropping the rotation on Dirt Rally is essential to make it controllable. On the standard or soft locked rotation I find it pretty much impossible.

Was a quick setup on my lunch break. Found out it's press mode and dpad right to set the rotation. I didn't change any ffb for Assetto. It seemed pretty spot on with the default settings. Need to check out what people are using for DR2.

Usually a Google search of your wheel model and whatever racing game your about to turn on first time becomes routine.

I did play some PC2 last night on PS5 along with some DR2. Got the ffb to my liking on both I think, but I'm also finding both hard work. I've thrown myself right into both and come away frustrated. I need to dial it back and just pick an easy car and do some hot lapping to get a feel for it more, on PC2 anyway. Oh and karts on PC2 are a fucking nightmare.

PC2 never felt right on the wheel to me.
Also it's tempting to turn the effects right up when you first get a wheel, but try turning everying down a bit. You feel a lot of subtleties to the feedback more and also have to wrestle witj the wheel a lot less.

Felt like I was battling with the wheel.
