In Sardinia, there was a pizzeria I went to where every pizza was named after something to do with Benito.

You are painting Italy literally as Alabama. Italians can have many defect, but they aren't racist or at least they aren't racist in dramatic way you are thinking about. No italian would ever think to kill or burn colored people or immigrant for funny as it can happen in other western countries like southern states in Usa. No italian politician has propose or acted in order to size personal items to migrants for payng their food as in the civil and hospitable Denmark for exemple. Italian racism is at best a bourgeois type of racism, where a wealthy person looks badly at a black man because he thinks he can steal his wallet (without him knowing that in reality the black person is an esteemed doctor)
