Edit- for anyone who can't see the Twitter embed: Fortnite has an MLK experience to mark the anniversary. People were finding the most racist skins and emotes they could because of course they were. Even after most emotes were disabled they still found a loophole with a whipcrack emote that Epic were contractually obliged to leave in.

I can see why they'd want to do *something*, it's just the lack of foresight that's surprising. They had skins and emotes for Pride month that were pretty good, and with no Pride "experience" there was no way for idiots to express their idiocy. But it's not like they could do an MLK emote (or a skin!) for this, as that would have been beyond tacky.

SCOTUS not responding isn’t that surprising given they had a two day deadline to respond. As horrific as this is, I don’t think this will have ripple effects as near identical laws in other states have already been consistently struck down by court rulings. This is Texas being Texas
