It is really frustrating that things can't be skipped given a) we might like to replay things and we've therefore seen it and want to crack on right now, and b) there's an elegant solution to the accidental button press (by holding it down, or a confirmation option).
When a game has so many other options, leaving out the 'nah I'm fucking moving on asap' option is incongruous at best.

I got the platinum on this last night. It's a shame you can't sort the tales of Tsushima list alphabetically or just have the incomplete ones show on the map once you've finished the game.
I didn't keep my PS4 save, so did the whole thing again, but i loved it. The 'send out your best warrior' mechanic is so cool. I will very probably come back to this at some point and do a new game plus playthough.

Sick of waiting for a solid release on PC, I’ve decided to finally go for this on PS4 Pro. Went for the Directors Cut for £35. Good deal? What’s the difference between the original and DC?

Couple of minor changes to the gameplay (having the ability to lock on in combat being the main one) and the DLC which I've heard is pretty substantial.

Does the DC not include the DLC? Apart from that I'm not sure. Don't think it gets any of the other perks which were only on PS5.
Edit: Yeah what Decks said.
I actually upgraded ages ago but haven't got around to playing the expansion yet. Because I have too many fucking games.
I should also add that £35 is still a steal for what is hands down one of the best open world games I have played.

Can't believe you haven't played the dlc Decks. Thought you would have been all over it.

I'm waiting for my drug addled memory to forget the game (probably early next year) so I can play through the whole thing including DLC again.

Yeah, I just can't come back to a game a year+ later and jump into the DLC. (tried it with Horizon and gave up straight away), but it's also too soon to just start the whole thing again... I much prefer chunks of standalone DLC like TLOU, Infamous and Uncharted did to just dumping you back into your old save game.

Bet you’re all jealous of me - I have barely seen a proper screen shot of this let alone a video haha Kept my eyes closed on this game solely so I can play the game with all DLC on PC but like I said before, can’t wait any longer. I’ll savour as much as I can

I don't think Iki Island is all that really.

I really hope they make a fully fleshed out sequel to the multiplayer part of the game. Loved the single player game and even platinumed (which I've only ever done on souls games).
The multiplayer stuff was such a huge bonus though, some of the most fun I've had playing anything with friends. More games need group flute playing between rounds!

Only started this a couple of weeks in having waited till I got a PS5 and then been working though some other backlog games.
36hrs in and have completed everything in the bottom 3rd, probably 75% of the middle, and ready to go into the final assault. I'm a bit of a completionist when I click with a game and find it hard to move on to the next section when there are side quests to mop up. Thankfully I've found the side quests enjoyable and generally add to the story and whole atmosphere. Plus they give some focus to exploring the map and finding shrines and the like on the way.
Goes without saying but it is a glorious looking game, absolutely stunning. First showdown in the 3rd act, the way the blood splatters and contrasts with the pure snow, wow.
And that combat is spot on with so many ways to approach each situation. I've found myself adopting various playstyles as abilities have unlocked and enemies have hardened. The armour and charm layouts encourage more experimentation too.
As an open world it works so well, and whilst I fast travel a fair bit for mopping up side quests, more often than not I just traverse the land and find myself knowing where I am without having to open the map. Whilst it might not quite have the set pieces of RDR2, overall I am enjoying it more, it just feels tighter all round. And even though I dunked a huge amount of time into AC Valhalla, GoT is for me easily superior.
Glad I waited for PS5 for the full fidelity and near instant loading, but I really should have played this sooner.

I am a little way into this. Crikey, it is hard to start with. Getting the gist of things now, but I feel like I am just going from find location, explore, go to next location, kill something, go back to the start for my reward. Do the missions get more involved?

I too am not far in but loving it. It does start to get easier once you upgrade kit and techniques. I am sure that will level off again.

Do the missions get more involved? It does open up a lot more once you get new kit, moves etc. Metal Gear Solid 5 in feudal Japan is a good fagpacket description. You can tackle most things in a really wide variety of ways.

Has something happened because I'm getting hints randomly appear on the screen telling me stuff that I already know like world activities and the touchpad controls seem to pop up on the screen and no go away unless I turn off the controller and back on again.

Sounds like a 'turn it off and on again thing'. I can check mine if you like, you on PS5?

Yeah I am, cheers. I'm using the back compat mode if that makes a difference. I've got the PS5 version. Will fire it up and report back 2 minutes in (on a 50ish hour playthrough) and I'm getting popups about standoffs, changing ranged weapons, and enemy leaders. Something broke.

Yeah, that's what I've been getting. It's really immersion breaking and there's no way to turn off hints

I'm still getting those but then I'm only near the end of Act 1, so assumed that was normal. And tbh, I'm old and forgetful, so actually quite handy.

Have you just started the DLC? No I have the normal game. No DLC. I was right at the start of the DLC and it was happening. Banners across the bottom telling you how to switch ranged weapons and such?
