Yeah, you get one nap but from my experience the health benefit is negligible.
Maybe worth it if you take a hit in the first encounter.

Have gotten back into it over the last few nights. I enjoyed it before the break but it's really sunk it's teeth in these last few days. I'm starting to understand the mechanics much much more which is making each run that bit longer. Really loving it now, more so than ever.

I would like to formally announce that I have completed Returnal and am feeling pretty damn pleased with myself.
Was stuck on Biome 5 for ages but got lucky picking up a top-notch Hollowcaster, unlocked Biome 6 and got through to Ophion and kicked his arse.
All hail me.

Fuck yes, first ending done. I'm surprised how easy the last boss was with the pylon gun, it was almost a non event with everything that particular biome threw at me.

That last Act felt like annoying busy work just to pad it out (as if it needed it!) but the final cut scene was cool. Such an awesome incredible game - haven't been as obsessed with a game for a long time. |

Sadly not.
Looking at it from a system level, would Sony be able to do something similar to xbox with the amount of games you can have in a saved state? Even if it meant just one more extra game it'd be better than nothing and certainly help with this game in particular.

Appears that there's a 6gb update in the works. Looking forward to whatever it will be. I gotta say I hit a wall about a month ago and then a week ago I thought I'd give it a try and it was like crack I couldn't put it down and blitz through it, like the game just unlocked in my mind with how it's meant to be played where now I don't find it as difficult as I did before and the game just sings. Such a fucking good game.

I redownloaded Resogun on my PS5 last week to get my Housemarque fix and wondered how the very precise controls and movement of a 2d-shooter translate to something like Returnal: does it feel like an evolution of a 2d shooter or is it 'just' a 3d shooter that looks like it has roots in 2d shmups?
Unrelated: too bad it's such a dark looking game! I didn't get a PS5 to look at drab dark areas all the time... :-)
Oversharing: I grew up with Galaga, Time Pilot, Nemesis 1,2,3, Salamander, R-Type etc...

Its obviously quite different to their previous games but you can tell there is shared DNA and the controls are pin sharp. If you die, its your fault kind of thing.

It sounds like you can however, suspend again at any given point and resume immediately where you left off. Super useful feature! |
