That's what I thought, with everything you're doing it's a mystery why you wouldn't have it on. Anyway after playing Hades I kinda wished they put a save point from the start of a biome, but developer vision and all that.

I actually prefer the way they've done it tbh. Plus, you don't have to fight the boss again and there's a shortcut through the biomes once you've ran it once. it's better that they make you start at the beginning, then you can decide to run part or all of the earlier biomes to gear up.

I like Hades but this is on another level compared to it.
Fuck a save point.

Totally agree with having sprint turned to always-on. The only time it ever comes close to hindering me is if I'm collecting item that are on a small platform and I have to be in and out fast, then it does pay to be able to move at a more deliberate pace.

Pretty obvious but try not to stick to using your fave gun. Some of the shit ones at first are game changers once you level them up.

I'm using a Spitmaw blaster at proficiency 7 right now with acid spit, extended range and improved stagger and seems to be beastly just from the damage output.

The Pylon gun can clear whole rooms in a few shots once levelled up.

The rotgland lobber or whatever it's called is one that you think is shit, and I ignored it for ages. Until I began to unlock perks for it and it's horrific how quickly it can destroy shit.

Yeah the Rotgland is laughable once the unlocks roll in. Melts stuff in a way even the Pylon can't match.

Glad to see you're enjoying this Jambo, it's the best exclusive PS5 game available at the moment in my opinion.
My favorite weapon through the earlier part of the game was the Hollowseeker and it has some really nice upgrades later on, especially the two different types of portals, either beam or gun. If RNG is shining on you, you occasionally get both as weapon mods!
I think my favourite weapons by the end however, were the explosive ones! Namely the Thermogenic Launcher and the Pyroshell Caster. When I found one with some decent weapon modifiers, especially if I'd levelled them a bit, they were absolutely beastly. I melted the last boss with a decent Pyroshell Caster I'd found.

Oh and I'm in the camp that didn't use always run setting, as I found it was very useful at times to delicately navigate through some tricky terrain or a perilous ledge, or carefully hide behind some cover. Basically, I didn't want to 'do a quaddy' and barrel over the edge of a precipice 🙂

Oh yeah, Thermogenic launcher with a full auto perk is just silly damage.

Did the 2nd boss today, took about 3 goes to do him after that bullshit final phase. Took an astronaut to do it, investigated the 3rd biome without fully committing to a proper run. This game has really taken my attention so far. Probably best game I've played this year so far.

Just finished the third act. I'm not a fan of the ambiguous ending, and a few trophies appear to be glitched, but I still think it's my favourite game of the year. Utterly brilliant.

Played it for the first time last night..wow, love the visual style and the sound is superb. Plays really well even though I’ve not really much idea what all the items / alien stuff does. Can’t wait to hit the wall when it gets a lot harder

When it gets harder your skills will have be honed by then so it become a frustration. It does that really well.

I think I got to Biome 4 and then eventually fucked it off. Not sure why as it's an amazing game. Absolutely hammered it non stop when it launched. Up there for goty for me definitely, although Death Loop is looking pretty god damn tasty so far. Its setup is a lot different to this though.

First session on this I got to the second Biome/level? The desert one anyway, beat the first boss on my first attempt. Tonight played it again for 3 hours and feels like I got nowhere, spent ages looking for kit and upgrades. Ended up dying a couple of times on rooms that go into lockdown, then the first boss but had a shite weapon so go wasted. Got there again with a better weapon and fucked it up!
Apart from all that I love it, really got its hooks in.. so well designed even if I’ve had a frustrating time tonight. What perks/kit or other stuff persist when you die?

Seems alright this. Didn't get very far in my hour last night, every time I thought I was doing OK some big bastard thing I hadn't seen before would -hit me, but I'm looking forward to getting stuck in properly.

Good little tip for newcomers to the game: Apart from the purple ones, you can dash through lasers and projectiles to avoid damage.

Take a nap in your ship to replenish health, then when you collect health pickups they go towards extending your health.. summat like that!
Also destroy the statues with gold eyes for some extra obolites.. some of the smaller standalone pillars too.
