Damn, Nano, you got much further than I did. I stopped after I took Madam President to the hideout, with the next objective being meeting Idris at a bar.
But it seems cool so far. Finally reassigned my skill points, and my carrying weight, life bar and damage output are kind of insane.

Despite my initial intention re picking an ending, I ended up letting Johnny take the wheel, and assaulting Arasaka Tower with Rogue. As much as I liked the idea of accepting Panam's help, dragging the Aldecaldos into my mess didn't seem right; also, the whole, "Here's a jacket - you're an Aldecaldo now!" part put me off. Like, my Nomad V had left that world behind already, y'know? Joining another group seemed like a regressive step. I think this ending works really well if you romanced Panam, but... well, we all know how that went for me!

I romanced Judy, it's more that the Nomad ending is the only one where you actually stay together, you end up dumped in all the other ones. So it was less the Nomad thing and just sticking by friends/lovers.

Just started Phantom Liberty bit on my second playthrough since 2.0, and I have to say it's still not my favourite part of the game. In fact it's pretty much near my least favourite bit of the entire game. I know it picks back up but the entire sequence after initially entering Dogtown, after reaching the market for the first time - climbing up to the roof, rescuing Myers, evading Barghest, the fucking Chimera tank bit, pretty much that entire section until you actually get to the safehouse ... it just drags on a bit, too on rails, with no gap between to really break it up. just feels like too many set pieces that were added purely for the spectacle. Still, nearly actually back to what feels like the proper game. Really have noticed quite a few bugs this time around - the last patch added some cool but (to me) inconsequential things and introduced a quite a few bugs (not least the melee finisher animations being totally bugged), but also noticed a few more general bugs here and there. It had felt quite polised at 2.0, but 2.1 is a bit jankier. Still love it overall and nothing gamebreaking for me.

Two quick things I don’t like since returning. The random gangs that start attacking you while you’re driving. That’s new. And also the way music keeps playing after you exit your car. Also new.
Also they added a transit system and I can’t even use it? The game sends me a Metro card, I go to the station, and there’s no prompt to enter, but the security guards and mech get aggroed because I’m too close to them?
This game is dumb.

Just went for a metro ride and it worked for me. A bit disappointed you can't freely wander around in the train, but it was cool to stand by the door and watch the city rolling past. I'm glad they put it in the game.

I like the gang attacks, gives me something to do. Should only really be gangs you've antagonised who attack you though. Which makes some sense, why would gangs not want revenge?
I've also seen gangs attacking each other. More than once I've attached them accidentally as I thought they were coming after me.
Metro issue sounds weird though, honestly can't recall being attacked by security at any terminals.

I hate the radio thing. I keep trying to remember to turn it off before I get out of the car but never do and then I'm walking around for a bit with background music until I realise the radio is still playing. Really harms immersion. Needs a toggle in the options so you can just disable it. It's annoying because it was perfectly fine as it was
You're not missing much with the metro. I thought it would be seamless but it's not like that. I only used it once to have a look and haven't since. I'd still rather just hop in a car
I had an issue where I couldn't drive vehicles into Dogtown because the barriers in the road weren't lowered but it just kind of resolved itself gradually over time (one barrier at a time), so just try the metro again later after a story time skip or something

The radio is annoying but I don't mind it too much as you can just turn it off with a single button so it doesn't grate too much. I've just gotten into the habit of pressing dpad left or whatever it is after leaving a car.
Though agree there should be an option to auto disable in the menu.
Even with the issues I've encountered recently it's still the most I've enjoyed a game in the last decade.

I really liked the radio change myself. I though it enhanced the atmosphere.

I've always liked the clear transition from being ensconced in your vehicle to being out in the city with the sudden change in soundscape and vice versa. They've really blurred that now. It also takes away from the feeling of listening to the car radio if it follows you out of it. I just find it less immersive and a reminder that I'm playing a game

I can see that, I just like the music to be playing more than it was prior. It did briefly take me out of the immersion a bit when I first noticed it was still playing.
I quickly adjusted to it being far more believable that in world your radio/music listening ability is not tied to your presence in a vehicle. I mean that's not the case today and if I had a shit load of cyberware, you better believe I'm continuing my listening.

Yeah, it 100% makes sense that the music could just seamlessly switch to being in your head or whatever in the game. Although the noise it makes turning it on and off does make it sound like you're using a walkman

Right. I was like “I guess my car stereo is busted and I’ve been listening to music on my iPhone all day.”
Also another reason I don’t like is while I used to really like the original songs recorded for this game, after 200 or so hours I’ve played this over two full playthroughs, I find the music really grating. It’s not exactly playing GTA and putting on Ice Cube, is it?
I’ll try again later. Honestly I’d probably be enjoying it a bit more if I focused on the PL storyline, but every time I enter Dogtown, I see one of those cars El Capitan wants you to steal for him, so I’m getting distracted. Last one I did, had the gangs start chasing me. I stopped to kill them, which caused the cops to arrive endlessly so I quit the game and came on here for a little rant.
Had I known about the random gang attacks, I would’ve invested some points in the many new car combat skills, but I figured there’s so few car battles, why bother? Oy.

I love those car missions. You can just ignore the enemies that come after you for the most part, just take some sharp turns or something. There's a perk you can get that enables you to hack vehicles that will let you cause them to slam on their break, which is all you need really (I think it's on the very bpttom tier of Int). If they won't go away, jump out, kill them and then get back on your way. They're not always like that - some require you to deliver the car within a time limit (usually really easy) or in good condition

Wow that new version of the smasher fight don't fuck around.
Epic running battle, thought he had me a few times but turned him to scrap!
Now other endings? This was a secret run but I'd like to ride off into the sunset on Panam.
Erm, WITH Panam I mean 😳

This is now a genuinely excellent game. As well as being easily the best looking game I've ever played (both from a purely technical standpoint but also in the design and art direction of Night City), its systems are much more engaging after the 2.0 update. The various perks actually feel meaningful, and I'm torn over which skills to level up as so many of them sound useful/fun. Vehicles handle much better and driving the various cars is a pleasure now, giving me more incentive to buy new ones to test them out (I completely ignored that aspect before). Transmog is also a very welcome addition, though I'm finding it challenging to make a character that doesn't look like a complete douchebag lol. The UI is a bit clunky still, but functional. Combat is not amazing but is good enough considering it's an open world game with so many different options (gunplay is decent, stealth is serviceable, but melee is still quite poor which led me to swiftly abandon my katana build - to be fair to CDPR, I'm not sure any game has made decent first person melee combat yet). Comparing weapon stats and weapon modding/upgrading is still a bit confusing, but at least I'm engaging with it now, as before this was another aspect I completely ignored.
Really pleased that they've brought the gameplay up to par as Night City is just a joy to experience. For the virtual tourism alone this game is an easy 10/10. I really can't praise that aspect enough, it's incredible. Looking forward to the DLC content.

Honestly I enjoy the melee in this game. It's not the most complex but it's fun.
Still annoyed that melee finishers are bugged though, it's a known issue so been waiting for a patch but they're taking their time.

As long as they don't turn their eyes away entirely, still have bugs from 2.1 to fix...
Mostly just pottering about, can't decide if I want to do the Phantom Liberty questline or go and do side quests and gigs.
Did pick up the iconic X-Mod LMG though, using it with the Firecracker mod, it's fun. Suits my current V's dumb-brute approach perfectly.

I'm using fists practically exlusively, the only gun I've got on me is Lizzy (until I get The Mox), and I'm really enjoying it. Haven't got far enough for finishers yet but it's so satisfying when you punch someone and they ragdoll

My dumb brute V is mostly using fists, but have a sideline in shotguns / lmgs when fists aren't practical. Finishers are still borked in that the animations don't play properly, but with a blunt / fist build it doesn't matter so much as the most fun is being able to pick up people as lob their body into others. You can also pick up already dead bodies to throw around too Considering switching the Gorrila Arms out though and using the launcher, and using one of the iconic blunt weapons instead...

Huh, turns out you can lock yourself out of the DLC entirely before you even start it. I rock up to the gates of Dog Town, Songbird unlocks my Relic tree and I see that one of the new perks is an upgrade to optical camouflage, which I don't have. So I turn around and go looking for a Ripperdoc to buy one. Cue the president dying in a plane crash, Songbird cursing me out, a mission failed message, and Dog Town permanently locked off. Thank heavens I had a recent save.

NanocrystalHeh. I did the exact same thing, albeit for different reasons - I'd somehow missed that the initial Dogtown mission would begin the DLC, which I hadn't intended to start at that point, so I fast travelled out of there to do some random side gig. Bad things happened.

I was really quite tempted to just purposefully nope out of PL quests after rescuing Myers.
There's the line where Reed asks "I don't know how much they're paying you, but you better ask yourself - is it worth it?" and it was so tempting to just say "I'm out".

…and finished - the core game that is. Two years after buying it so I may have forgotten why I was doing particular quest lines. I think the 2.0 release really improved it, though it seemed to lessen the RPG aspects? I think missions used to have a danger level, which actually put me off. I felt like a bad-ass in the last third of the game, which is what I wanted.

Just want to gush about this game again. I've slowly morphed from a melee blunt build into shotgun / LMG build and it's ridiculous.
The Dezerter shotgun is actually ridiculous, and the Wild Dog LMG is a lot of fun too. As I wasn't using berserk much, thought I'd try the Chrome Compressor OS. It sounds dull but it lets you stack so much high end cyberware you can get armor rating ridiculously high.
Can now just mow through NCPD, um, I mean *enemies* near endlessly.
It's totally tactless and can understand why it might get boring after a while but right now I'm loving it.

Just finished Phantom Liberty. Really great expansion overall, and perfectly integrated into the base game. About the ending, I chose to betray Songbird and let her die at the end, leading me to the Alien Isolation style mission in the Militech vault which I hated playing as I wasn't expecting it and it terrified me, but looking back at it now it was kinda cool.
