Did the serial killer quest last night - heavy stuff but enthralling to play.
Still can't get enough of this - I'm doing a mix of all the activities (main quests, side quests, alerts, gigs etc) and still finding it an absolute blast. I've said it before but the immersion really is second to none. Some quality writing and characters too.

Even the side jobs and gigs are really well written and surprising. None of it feels like filler. Even things like the racing and fighting goes to unexpected places. Approaching 60 hours now and I’m starting to run out of things to do, but my word what a wonderful game this is. Definitely an all timer.

I've just started another new play through as I wanted to do a Netrunner/ smart gun build. Slightly addicted.
There's just a lot of details that can be easy to miss, even on my fourth play I'm noticing new things.

I’ve found net running and smart weapons to be the two most OP elements in the game, so you will be finding that game extremely easy with that build

Glad I started may playthrough on hard - I've died a few times but it feels fairly balanced.
This really reminds me of the original Deus Ex (and how I felt playng it 20 years ago) in all the best ways.
Even Adam Smasher looks like Gunther Hermann!

I've just started another new play through as I wanted to do a Netrunner/ smart gun build. Slightly addicted. There's just a lot of details that can be easy to miss, even on my fourth play I'm noticing new things. What things have you noticed? Some small background details - characters expressions at times. Like when you go to meet Ev, she's sat with Judy at the bar. Think most people notice that, but if you look at them when asking the bar man about Ev they animated them reacting. It's easy to miss because you wouldn't be looking at them usually. A lot of character animations are easy to miss. More substantially, the archived conversations and emails you get from the NCPD missions very often link together to create a hidden story. Jotaro, a minor antagonist you can kill in a gig, really is a monster. Just some hidden side missions too, some are reasonably well known, but the cyberpyscho attack at the fancy clothes store isn't something I'd seen before tbh, and contained one of my favourite Johnny moments when Max Tac are getting statements. Also just more occasions where your actions can lead to new dialogue choices or options in the future. Most aren't massive but can be easy to miss. If you complete an of Dino's gigs before doing the gig where you deliver a guy in the boot of a car, you learn more about who that guy is. So just small details like that, just flesh out the world slightly.

Here's a really small detail I like - if you side with the netwatch agent during the GIM mission, when you enter the VDBs subnet cyberspace, you can see a single blue figure (most characters appear red) in the distance, watching. He's not there if you kill the Netwatch agent in the GIM, so it's just a small detail showing that they've breached the VDBs subnet.
Another inconsequential but nice touch is that you can find Reed in his bouncer job before starting Phantom Liberty.

For some reason trying to launch Cyberpunk is now launching the RedLauncher. I fucking hate launchers. just start the fucking game.

Presuming you're using Steam, edit the launch properties and add --launcher-skip. Though that can cause problems with cross-platform saves and account goodies, but if you're not bothered about any of that go nuts.
As a bonus add -skipStartScreen to skip the pointless "press x to load the menu" bit too.

The Foxhound tech sniper being given away on Amazon prime currently is a pretty decent starter rifle.

Other half is starting to get very annoyed with me humming around the house.
"City of dreams, city of gang, gang, gang, gang, gang"
"Will you shut up with that?!"

Start angrily toasting instead:
RATATATATATATATA ALE ISIYA RATATATATATATATA ALE ISIYA RATATATATATATATA ALE ISIYA
That might make the humming more tolerable by contrast.

Quick question - are any quests timed?
I'm caught in a host of sidequests at the minute and I've had both River and Panam call me go see them (despite the one I'm on sounding urgent).
When you get a phone call request you usually get two yellow options which are basically variations of "Sure" and "Not Right Now".
I always choose "Sure" as I don't want to miss out on the quest but I'm wary I'll not get there in time as I'm in the middle of another sidequest that could go on for quite a while.
Tried searching online for an answer but can't find anything concrete. Any advice welcome, ta.

rhaegyrIn my experience, there's no time limit between accepting the phone call and meeting the quest-giver. And I've waited quite a while sometimes, so if there are examples of that happening I've not come across them. There are at least two missions I know can fail by timing out, but only after "properly" starting the quest and speaking to the quest giver in person, then ignoring the mission If you start the mission to rescue Saul from the Wraith camp and then run off it can fail - but you really need to go out of your way to do so.
The other is rescuing Myers in Dog Town. If you just potter around after she's crashed that will also fail.

Cheers drhickman1983 - I've already done the Panam mission and I've not been invited to Dog Town yet but I'll keep it in mind.

Is that for the “dates” they added in a later update? Those are kind of pointless.

There's a handful of minor sidequests that will time out (like the neighbor locked in his apartment), but Panam and Dogtown are the only big ones that have impact, the rest you just miss out on XP and eddies.

I really wished they had committed to a second DLC as originally promised obviously there are multitudes of reasons as to why it didn't but I really enjoyed the world that they had made and I thought Phantom Liberty and patch 2.0 demonstrated what Cyberpunk should have been. Hopefully they'll be building on their strengths for the sequel because I'm finding it really hard to play RPG's where you talk and interact with a stiff mannequin.

Of course my other half walked in while I was getting freaky with Panam in the car.

If anyone was wondering what todays' PC patch is about, apparently it takes a 625mb fix to stop the game crashing when assigning functions to the side buttons on Razer mice.

I've finally gotten around to playing this and fuck me, it's fantastic.
In the middle of The Heist at the moment, can't wait to get back on it when the kids go to bed.
Is the DLC good? Must watch Edgerunners too..

It was so well done and felt like that this was the game that they had tried to make and should have had the confidence back in the day to say let's make cyberpunk a next gen only title.

LegendaryApe The DLC is exceptional. Better than Blood and Wine, and as good as Hearts of Stone, for me.

They released it at the end of 2020, Next gen consoles had only just released and not in all territories. Likely a financial decision to please investors rather than a rational decision based on the demands of the game. If you discount the PS4/XBS versions, it wasn't too bad technically, especially compared to literally any Bethesda RPG on release.
