The DLC made me actually sad that there was only one made. It was so well done and felt like that this was the game that they had tried to make and should have had the confidence back in the day to say let's make cyberpunk a next gen only title. They released it at the end of 2020, Next gen consoles had only just released and not in all territories. Likely a financial decision to please investors rather than a rational decision based on the demands of the game. If you discount the PS4/XBS versions, it wasn't too bad technically, especially compared to literally any Bethesda RPG on release. Eh? In what world was it not too bad technically. It was technically a mess. It wasn't ready to be released in 2020, they know that, they've admitted to that. I can't remember any Bethesda game literally being removed from the PSN store because it was not fit for purpose. The PS4/XB versions were what everyone got, there were no native next gen versions and they were a shitshow. Having to cater to the OG consoles severely hampered the development of the game.

Exactly this - if we "discount the PS4/XBS versions," all that's left is the PC port.
That was admittedly the best of the three (although it was a low bar to clear), but the only PlayStation and Xbox versions released in late 2020 were for PS4 and Xbox One respectively. Native PS5 and XSX editions didn't come along until February 2022.

Apologies, thought the PS5 & Xbox Series versions launched alongside every other version. My experience of the game have come from the PC & PS5 versions.

From what I read and saw I believe the old gen versions weren’t too bad if you had the new consoles. I played it on ps4 and I loved the game but it ran like shit.

stuz359 To be honest, although I'd remembered that the PS5 and XSX versions didn't come out at launch, I couldn't for the life of me recall when they actually arrived. I had to look it up on Wikipedia! (I blame COVID - my entire perception of time in 2020-21 is totally messed up. Everything's one big blur.) Kind of wild to think that when Cyberpunk was announced back in 2012, PS4 and Xbox One were still unreleased, next-gen consoles. By the time the game came out, they were yesterday's news.

I first played it on the One X and it struggled. When I got a PS5 and was still playing the back compatible version it ran close to 60 but was still a technical shambles. In terms of gameplay and features the launch version and 2.0 version feels like different games.

I'm glad I waited then, before starting. I've had no troubles since I've started playing.

I wish I had waited as I've played so many versions.

I wish I had waited as I've played so many versions. I'm sure the PS 6 version will be worth it. That being said, based on the game so far, I'd happily play through it again even if it was just a tiny bit shinier

The path traced version is exceptional.

I was lucky enough to play on PC with a 3080 at launch and saved a replay until now, so ploughing through it on SX with the option of cloud saves and I can pick it up on PC too to check out the new shinies (albeit on the same 3080) From my perspective it's a similar experience just with three+ years of polish and QoL changes. Anyway, it's bloody ace... I'm probably enjoying it more this time around than at launch. The level of detail in the world is just stunning at times. One of the greatest open world cities ever crafted in a game imo. (even if theres still not much you can actually interact with) Couldn't decide on what to pump points into at first so I started off with a bit of an all rounder. Got loads of points in stealth which seems a bit wasted when I just go in all guns blazing of spamming quick hacks.
