Yeah, but mainly from Harley, right? Barbie seems to have catapulted her to another level.

This is all assuming many more movies get made. Blue Beetle is tracking to make upwards of 50-60 dollars on its opening weekend. So it will make a profit then.

FWIW, Affleck quit around the time the original Justice League theatrical release hit, but when doing press for Air he said he regretted quitting because he had just figured out how to do Batman right when he left the role. Really wanted to see the director of Gone Girl and Argo write, direct and star in a proper Batman one-off.

Yeah, that movie shot her and Jonah Hill to the stars, and revitalised DiCaprio’s career.

Yeah, that's an awful take. Dicaprio is one of the few actors that will always be at the top.

Eurgh. Wolf of Wall Street. Now I'm angry again. Don't think I've ever gritted my teeth during a movie so much.

Compare it to something like Margin Call, which is similarly about Wall Street cunts being cunts but it was tonally much more "these are cunts".
Wolf just felt a bit laddy and jokey. Giving the actual guy a cameo in the film, which he'll no doubt dine out on, really irked me.
But the thing that absolutely fucked me off, and will continue to fuck me off until the day I die: Margot Robbie got her kit off and showed everything but fucking DiCaprio and some of the other cunts in it used body doubles just for their arse.
I cannot tell you just how much I absolutely hate that kind of one sided sexist "expect the women to show everything but the blokes can keep their dignity" shit.

Came out 10 years ago Jambo. Back when I was a younger lad and I thought the sights and sounds of a cinema with popcorn and a drink were what I needed.
But on a serious level, that film was a turning point for me. It just really rubbed me up the wrong way and it was around the time Seth McFarlane did his thing at the Oscars about who showed their tits on screen. I can't even really think of any big male actors who've shown cock in a major film, over the last few years. Maybe Fassbender in Shame?
Now, I am very far from being a proper feminist but that really stuck with me and I started to notice it more. It just does my head in a bit.

Wolf of Wall Street managed to make be bored at watching a dude snort cocaine off a hooker's torso. Which is quite the feat.

It was sniffed out of her arsehole iirc....
Yeah, it certainly wasn't a particular politically correct good guy movie. It is set in the early 80s/early 90s though, so presumably was accurate behaviours for the time. They were all dickheads for sure. I thought it was fairly entertaining though, and that Di Caprio's performance was fantastic.
Was also the first time I'd heard of Robbie, and thought she was absolutely brilliant in it too.

Yeah I mean it was a farcial look at the Wall Street stereotype of the 80s. I don't think it was celebrating the culture.

TWOWS is also helpful to contextualise the modern crypto market as 'The Wolf' is still active in plenty of crypto ponzi schemes. He has learned absolutely no lessons.

Yeah. That's fine. But I think, for me, was what I said - the actual bloke getting a cameo just felt it gave him a certain level of validation that was completely unnecessary and the aforementioned bits of unequal displays of sex/ nudity.
I think the same thing and message can be achieved by just being a bit more careful with it. I found it just a thoroughly disappointing experience, especially compared to the likes of Margin Call, which was a far superior film.

But why does he even need to be in it? This is a man who cheated people out of millions. Not just companies or corporations, but regular people.
To me, including him just affords him a level of validation. He gets to say "I had a scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in a Martin Scorsese movie about me".
That's how he'll see it, if he's anything like the man the film was allegedly trying to make him seem.

Fwiw, I don't think the film was trying to glorify him in the slightest, much like the message of Goodfellas was not "hey isn't crime great".
The problem was that Wolf of Wall Street banged that drum for three exhausting hours, and ran out of things to say long before the end.

And again if they do know who he is the movie actively mocks him so it's not exactly a glowing endorsement.
