Dark Fate is better than 3,4 and 5. At least the Terminator was menacing and the woman from the future was interesting.
They made fucking Sam Worthington the lead in one of them FFS.

All of the Terminators after 2 are shit, it's just a case of the consistency of the shit.

And Terminator 2 still managed to be great, despite Edward fucking Furlong. God, Edward Furlong was the dog's bollocks when I was ten. Y'know when you read about comic books in the 40s and how Robin was this child-appeal character, because kids knew they'd never be Batman, but they could imagine themselves as Robin? That was me and Edward Furlong. I just wanted to ride around on the back of Arnold's motorbike, hack into ATMs with my fucking Atari palmtop computer or whatever the hell it was, and have a big floppy fringe covering my eyes.

I'm not sure any Terminator film is worse than Genisys.
His post did actually make me realise that I'd been judging the Blue Beetle movie as a movie for adults, when maybe the target market is more for younger kids. So I showed the trailer to my youngest and he thought it looked good.
He is into beetles and Kamen Rider though...

I think it's the "did you just call moi a dipshit" line that flips me over to Skynet. Just kill him already.

We should be thankful to Dark Fate. It had a level of basic competence that proved nobody really gives a shit about new The Terminator product even if its actually alright and has seemingly forced hollywood to give up on it.

I thought it got successfully cancelled by incels because it was too woke. That's what they claimed anyway.
It's a shame, as I thought it was a decent start to a new trilogy and I'd kinda have liked to see where they went with it next.

As shit as Genisys was, I wanted to see how the story was going to get resolved. Didn't they make John Conner a bad guy in it?

I enjoyed Dark Fate on its own merits. The first section and the plane bit were good. Not T1 or T2 good but better than 3-5.
The plot was decent and I actually liked what they did the T800. It was just about 20 years too late.
Hopefully they just leave it alone, now and it becomes like Jaws where people collectively forget there was ever an attempt to franchise it.

We have a girl John Connor but shes still a John Connor. Now John Connor is a genre rather than a person, shes still destined to lead the resistance so a murder bot will come and try to kill her. There are only so many times you can re-tell that story (six, seemingly)

I think whilst Genesys was poorly made - and had all the hallmarks of a troubled studio re-edit - it actually had decent ideas and could have spun the franchise into an interesting new direction. Basically doing "Star Trek '09" on the whole thing and branching the timeline off is pretty smart really, but the repeated time travels and whole "Skynet is a person" stuff was rubbish.
Dark Fate, on the other hand, lost me immediately with John, and then just proceeded to regurgitate the plot of T2 but not as good. It's not Skynet it's "Legion", yadda yadda yadda. I just thought it was boring, even though the weird "enhanced" woman from the future (forget her name) and Ghost Rider as the combo Terminator were both really good in it.

Genysis (can never spell this, glad no-one else can either) suffered from the problem of all Terminator movies after T2 in that it was horribly miscast.
Dark Fate got the casting right and for me that's half the battle. Though it probably wouldn't have gone anywhere great, at least I liked the characters enough to want to find out.
T3/T4/Genesys(?) not so much.

Unless it’s reported in the trades or a reliable source, I don’t believe it. Don’t think it’ll happen.
Edit: just looked at the source. She says they are planning something but nothing but announced in the DCU as of yet.
Bonus to pissing off the Cavill fans though.

Whilst Gunn obviously said that Cavill and Affleck weren't coming back, didn't he say stuff to the effect that Gadot might still be Wonder Woman? Can't remember now, I just have the feeling that she never officially left.

Well it was originally said they asked Jenkins to rewrite parts of her WW3 script to fit with the new direction rather than kill it but she refused and walked.

TBF after the awfulness that was WW84 it was probably a good thing that she walked of her own volition.

I like Gadot as WW, but her cameo in The Flash was pretty awful. Then again, that whole joke was pretty awful so maybe she was just embarrassed.

This has come from Gal and not Gunn about WW3. They should recast her. But we already know they're not recasting everybody, so why not try to keep one of the most successful bits of the DCEU? Gadot went from essentially unknown to feeling iconic in the role, and starred in the franchise's best film (and, er, WW84). If Aquaman, the Peacemaker cast, and possibly others (Blue Beetle? Shazam? Harley?) are sticking around, it makes sense to have Wonder Woman too.

But if you want to go that route surely you keep Batman and Superman? Plus it's still rumored that Momoa is moving onto.. Lobo

I'm sorta playing Devil's Advocate coz I would have liked Cavill to stay but I understand the desire to do a cleaner reboot of Superman without the various bits of story baggage from the Snyder era. Like having Lois already know his secret, having them already be a couple, having him die and come back, etc. Affleck didn't want to do it anymore by all accounts. So if WW has a relatively clean, simpler backstory, with less to retcon or explain, and a star who wants to carry on, then I get all that. However, I do also get why recasting two of the Trinity and not the third might also be confusing.
Basically, unless you throw away EVERYTHING and start from scratch, you're always going to end up with some sort of mess. But that just feels like a very accurate DC Comics reboot to me!
And I thought those Momoa rumours turned out to be false, that he posted a video saying he was excited to be doing more Aquaman? Might be wrong on that one.

TBF I don't think user Baihu needed to spoiler tag that bit about Momoa. Does anyone really care or is that invested in the DC movie universe to be greatly affected by the fact that he play another character?

It's impossible to know what's going on backstage. They might have been just using it as a way to drive down her salary requests for all we know. Momoa might hate Aquaman and want to move to Lobo, but there's a new Aquaman movie coming out soon so he can hardly say that.
I do feel like Gadot went from nobody to iconic in the role, which you can't really say of Cavill or Affleck, so it makes much more sense to keep her. Plus her standalone movies have been pretty separated from the others, what with being in the WW1 and 1984.
It'll be interesting to see what they do with Harley, what with Robbie becoming so big recently.
Maybe they should do a WW + Harley movie.

This is all assuming many more movies get made. Blue Beetle is tracking to make upwards of 50-60 dollars on its opening weekend.
