Probably correct. I watched them a kid and haven't rewatched them since so my memory is spotty. Thanks for the correction

Yeah he was. I remember him being forced to sabotage the car in one episode by I think Penguins men? But I think he was just a mechanic rather than helping out with all the other stuff?

Ha, see I want mega-frills Batman. That's why I'm excited by The Brave and the Bold. I want Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Oracle. I want a subway rocket and seven different Batmobiles and a Batwing and a UFO in his secret sci-fi closet. I want a red phone and a bust of Shakespeare and poles down to the Batcave. I want Man-Bat and Clayface and Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze and all the weird unrealistic baddies.
They've been doing down-to-earth takes on him since 1997 and I'm ready for it to be bonkers again.

I’m personally satisfied that I’ve seen enough Batman and so they should definitely make a movie that caters to people who like shit like this. Tonally It sounds a lot like what they were going for with Batman 3 and 4 though, which is not to say it could not be done well.

When I started reading Batman comics "properly" about 20-odd years ago (so after the Animated Series) Lucius Fox was basically the guy who ran Wayne Enterprises day-to-day. He was the suit, the businessman who Bruce put in place to make sure the company was looked after while he was galivanting around Gotham. I don't believe he ever knew Bruce was Batman though - certainly I don't recall it ever being canonical, but maybe there was a Commissioner Gordon thing where he probably did know but wouldn't admit it. I don't remember him ever being a tech genius or a mechanic or really anything to do with R&D.
I'm not the world's foremost Batman scholar, though.

Earl! The mechanic was called Earl. Speaking of mechanics, does anyone else remember Harold? The mute hunchback from the 90s comics? I think Batman found him working for a villain or something and brought him back to the Batcave and set him to work on all his gadgets and vehicles. IIRC he literally lived in the cave and didn't even know Batman was Bruce Wayne. He was like this disable idiot savant, and when the Cataclysm happened (a huge earthquake that levelled Gotham) he left the cave to try to fix the city. Probably not the best portrayal you could do of a disabled character. I don't think I'd stretch to putting him in a film. Anyway, I'd best get back to work...

Release Batgirl! *waves protest sign*
(Oracle can come too if she wants. I guess it'd be ok to have Nightwing around to make fun of)

Under Tom King's run at least.

My hazy memory of Knightfall as a kid Lucius Fox did know or kinda know about Batman. Also it Harold hand working all the batterangs etc. But not the Batwing etc.

I wish my shitty town had somewhere that sold comics. Reedcomics are great if you have to buy stuff online; they package the delivery in about 3 different boxes and sleeves so everything stays in mint condition. Grabbed all the Sandman stuff from there and had no probs.

Guys, I worked in a comic shop for 2 years, packaging comics with my sausage roll sticky fingers, after having read them.

Scraggly little beard. Childlike ears. Full of beans, and spunk. I let my principles get in the way of things.

I feel really sorry for Snyder at this point. Imagine sitting in your… well, mansion, probably, knowing that the people who admire you the most are the second biggest gang of fucktards on the planet.

These kind of endorsements don't mean anything these days. Maybe they never did. I remember James Cameron going on about how good the latest Terminator films were. They were not good at all and he knows it.

They were not good at all and he knows it. My Terminator Hot Take is that after T2, the films just keep getting worse. And yes, by that I mean Dark Fate is even worse than Genysis. I might be alone in this opinion, just like how I tend to enjoy Superman IV more than Superman III (caveat: they're both shit).

It's pretty much accepted.
