I haven't watched them in absolutely ages, but I remember really loving Infernal Affairs 2. Maybe I would be disappointed if I revisited it.
The first is an absolute classic though.

I now feel less bad about being underwhelmed by The Departed.
Everyone always talks about it being this great movie so I always thought I was wrong to love IF more.
IF2 might be good, I just remember not liking the younger actors as much as the people in the first film, and that cramming in a prequel meant they had to jump through a few hoops to make it fit with the original.

I don't know about everyone saying The Departed was a great film. Think it is pretty much universally acknowledged that the Oscar for it was a pity Oscar, as Scorsese hadn't ever won one.

You know what recent-ish Scorsese movie I liked? Silence. Partly because it wasn't filled with characters constantly yelling and swearing at you.

Really need to see Silence. I think Wolf of Wall Street is genuinely up there with his best 80s/90s stuff.
Fair play to the guy, really, he's 70-odd and still making really wild, audacious, entertaining movies.

Holy topic resurrection batman...I enjoy Batfleck as a director more than actor. He's not great at all. But the films he's directed have a heart that I really like.

You see this would all be fine if, you know, the films were actually rated really well, had the same kind of engagement as Marvel Studios stuff pre phase 4 and weren't planned on the back of a cigarette packet. But obviously the people are wrong, they just don't understand the auteur that is Snyder.
