I understand why they’ve gone down the emo route for Supergirl but I’m not sure I’m a fan. Isn’t this the look from Dark Knight Strikes Back for Lara, the daughter of Supes and WW? Edit: turns out my memory is bad and they don’t look much alike. In my defence, I did only read that story once as it was dogshit. |

Edit: thanks Zephro, I forgot R-Batz! No Will Arnett? He would be in my top three or four. Keaton would take my top spot, and Affleck would be above Bale. I don't like the Lego Batman movie, sorry! He's funny in the two main Lego movies but only because he's a parody not a "real" Batman. So I'm afraid he's at the bottom of my list. |

Batfleck brought a believable weariness to the character which helped.
I'm sure everyone will get a kick out of it but the Keaton reveal/moment will resonate far more with the older crowd in the cinema, it was such a phenomenon on release. The amount of shit gum I devoured getting those cards... just for another Knox on the job.

I was genuinely… what am I trying to say? I felt for him? People were shitting the bed over BvS and him being cast and I thought he was great in that movie, the second best part of it behind Gadot. He really deserved a shot at a proper stand-alone Batman / Bruce Wayne movie and just didn’t get it. The whole debacle made me think very little of DC fans.

I also really liked Affleck in the role, but I read an interview with the guy playing Deathstroke, and if he's right the proposed story for his standalone Batman movie sounded pretty crap. Really basic, first-base edgelord Batman stuff.
I've been bored of the super serious Batman for a while now, that's all we ever seem to get. Hopefully the new DCU one will offer a bit more variety of tone.

Especially in the last one where he just looked fat and depressed for the whole thing. I think it’s him generally. He’s a weird actor. Not quite likeable enough to be a hero but not convincing as a bad or tough guy. Not charming enough to be a leading man. Not good enough at acting for character work. He seems to be best in things like Gone Girl i.e. when he plays normal blokes who are a bit of a dick. |

Which is mostly because of his acting chops because Renner isn’t really tough guy material either but he pulls it off. |

Yeah that is weird. I kind of want to watch it again now. I got the urge to watch The Departed again the other fay but through thinking about it I ended up watching all the best bits on YouTube so there's no point now.

I've got very little patience for story lines that decide literally all the back story was some hidden conspiracy all along. Just grinds my gears for some reason. Which is my vague memory of it all. Like some other Wayne had been running all of this somewhere in Wayne buildings and Batman never noticed. |

I enjoyed Court of Owls. Like some have said, I thought the conspiracy stuff was a bit old hat, but the execution of the story and especially the artwork was excellent. |
