Hopefully they bring to life Snyder's brilliant daring vision of having Batman being raped in a prison. VISIONARY.

Was that actually in a Snyder script? I mean it sounds entirely plausible yet somehow too dumb...

Have they changed Stately Wayne Manor in these new trailers? It really doesn’t look like Knebworth any more, unlike the teaser trailers.

On the "no one under 40 knows Keaton's Batman", I'm 35 and actually only just watched them in the last couple of months after getting the box set of the 80s/90s films for Christmas.
The other franchises that were mentioned, such as Connery/Moore Bond and Indiana Jones, were very much treated as family films that were played on repeat during my childhood in the 90s. They would have been on during the day regularly on bank holidays or over Christmas, so it would be hard not to have seen them if you had any interest. Batman and Batman Returns though were definitely more adult and unlikely would have been played pre-watershed, particularly Returns.
I'm sure fans of these sort of films would have gotten around to them at some point and I probably am a bit unusual to not have seen them until recently (and I'm sure I had seen bits of both, although certainly not all the way through). However, I expect I'm not the only one and I'm certain it would be very common for those under 30.

As ever I love the idea that these huge businesses invest hundreds of millions of dollars without doing the most basic market research.

Ok. I suppose that makes sense when you think that people under the age of 40 don't care about Connery/Moore Bond, or Kirk/Picard, or seem completely uninterested in 80s slasher movies. Or Jaws. Or Indiana Jones. I've been thinking on this for a while and I still can't work out if it's sarcasm.
Kids these days clearly know Back the the Future though, as it was explained to them in Avengers.

40 might be pushing it, but I doubt many under 30s care much about any of those things, other than maybe slasher movies. Hence my confusion.

Those under 30s will have been shown those films/pop culture references by their parents and older siblings so they will have a clue.
Like with my daughter, she's watched the modern stuff but also classics from my childhood and older.
Especially in this age its so easy to access everything they have so much choice and exposure to films and shows.

As ever I love the idea that these huge businesses invest hundreds of millions of dollars without doing the most basic market research. Just to clarify, my comment was more aimed at the blanket assertion that every under 40 has seen Batman/Batman Returns. As I say, I don't think those Batman films were anywhere near as ubiquitous as those other franchises that were mentioned for a 90s kid*. That doesn't mean I think they are making a big marketing mistake harkening back to those films. For what it's worth, I am much more interested in Michael Keaton playing Batman again than I would be if Christian Bale was. The fact I watched Bale's Batman long before I watched Keaton's Batman doesn't change that. *In fact, I was reading up on why Burton didn't come back for a third film after watching Returns and it clearly being set up. The reason was basically because the manufacturers and McDonald's in particular flipped out that Returns wasn't kid friendly enough and that they struggled to make Happy Meals featuring Danny DeVito with black stuff pouring out his mouth and Michelle Pfeiffer in a stitched together rubber outfit.

I was born in 89 and I'd seen both Batman and Returns by the time I was 5/6. It was a known quantity and 89-97 Batman were kind of viewed as a "series" of sorts.
Plus they're all on Sky.

I don't think anyone saying EVERYONE under 40 has seen the Keaton films but they ARE iconic and well watched. The assertation that they're not smacks of a Marvel fan boy

Keaton is the best Bruce, Pattison is the best Batman. Bale is just sort of middling and I haven't seen Batfleck.
THERE ARE NO OTHERS.

I don’t get any praise for Batfleck. I know his films were all shit but he didn’t exactly shine in them or improve his material. He just looked miserable and like he didn’t want to be there the whole time.

Ranking the Batmen:
Kevin Conroy Michael Keaton Adam West Robert Pattinson Christian Bale Ben Affleck Val Kilmer George Clooney
I feel like I'm forgetting someone.

Though I'd bump Bale up above Keaton and leave the rest as is. Affleck/Kilmer/Clooney is just a pointless debate though they're all shit.

I don’t think Bale’s Batman should return in this manner, because he just doesn’t belong in a fantastical movie. I don’t think he should return at all, the whole point of Nolan’ trilogy was that he began and ended Batman. They shouldn’t bring back RDJ as Iron Man either.

They're not bringing Bale back. It's a new Batman for DCU. Which I'm guessing we'll see at the end of this.

RDJ’s Iron Man turning up on the DCU would be a hell of a coup. I’m here for it tbh.

Bales was fine but someone felt the need to keep altering his voice in the sequels.
