I mean I think it should be more comedy-focused than anything else really. Booster Gold could actually be more of a workplace sitcom, because really he's a "working superhero" - he's got sponsors, he's trying to be famous, etc. You could have him be hired as the "official superhero" of Kord Industries (to get Ted in there), and maybe slowly over the course of the series his ethics and morality start to rise up because he's doing increasingly shady corporate shit, or because he's having to ignore genuine cries for help, that sort of thing. Big business is bad, etc.

Ive seen a few VAs call out how dumb the 'same actor does everything' idea is, saying how VA work is very different to acting, how lame a lot of actors are at VA work and how it infantilises the audience in thinking they cant mentally adjust to a slightly different voice in a different medium.

I find a lot of the time having the same actors voice animated versions of characters sounds wrong anyway. It creates less dissonance for me if they have completely different voices.

Hopefully their VA ability is part of their casting consideration.

Well it's going to part of their contracts so at least they'll be preparing to do it. I get why VA's are going to be miffed that they're potentially losing roles but having a consistent character isn't a bad thing.

Hmmm, that's an interesting point. Looking at Creature Commandos, though, a lot of those characters would need to be CGI or at least very heavy prosthetics in live-action so you'd think being able to convincingly voice a character would be a prerequisite of the job.

Apart from the fact that a lot of actors aren't particularly good at being VA's and generally sound flat as fuck, as well as the fact that in some games it can be quite a intensive amount of time that you're needed to actually record lines.

Not entirely, but I get the impression that Gunn doesn't really know much about what goes into game development, because reading some of the stuff he's said around such as h having games bridge movies, it's veering very close to the bad old days of licenced games.

I doubt there will be many games anyway, they certainly won't be releasing to the movie schedule but they could take place between things. Most content will be movies and shows (live action and animation).

I could see someone pitching a relatively obscure character to be the focus of a game - I dunno, Ragdoll, say, or the Outsiders - and being given a fairly free rein but then having that character pop up in other media.

I like the idea of film actors voicing their characters in games too, but at the end of the day it’s going to depend on who they cast. Maybe that’s why they’re recasting everyone. An actor my age would jump at the chance to be in the game, probably, but for example, Ben Affleck would take a big bag of convincing. Not him specifically since he has been out for awhile now, but just as the example.

I still can't get over the fact that Harrison Ford was in the Lego Force Awakens game.

On the other hand, they have cancelled a sequel to a pile of actual dogshit which, given they are proceeding with swamp thing, might mean you get a proper version rather than something completely half arsed.

I liked the Constantine movie, despite being aware that it was bugger all like the comic.

On the one hand, Peter Stormare was terrific. On the other hand, Shia LaBeouf, and Keanu in his “I don’t really know what to do with myself after The Matrix” mode.

I was basically furious that they cast Reeves. I’ve since seen the movie and it was good of itself, but still a fundamentally terrible adaptation of Hellblazer. At the time I thought David Wenham should have played the part after seeing him in Pure.

There will never be a good Hellblazer adaptation until they just get someone British to do it in a fuck the consequences way.

Maybe it's so divorced from the source material that they don't even consider it an Elseworlds.

I don't remember the original Constantine movie being anything all that memorable, and Keanu seemed rather miscast and mis-costumed. I don't remember it being all that popular, so it's weird them bringing it back. I guess they're going for the No Way Home style social media buzz.
They guy playing Constantine in the TV show seemed more appropriate, though the show itself was rather meh.

I like Reeves as well, and viewed on its own merits think it’s a good movie. I was just repelled at the notion it was meant to be Hellblazer. I also can’t stand the sight of Shia LaBeouf on screen.

Hot take: if they're still going for "older Batman", Reeves would be a good shout.
Personally I think he might be a bit TOO old (he's older than Affleck), but still, he'd rock it.

Surely that'd just confuse the shit out of everybody?
Is it supposed to be a continuation of the Dark Knight films? Is it just coincidentally the same actor? What's going on?
Affleck was already Batman alongside at least some of these characters (Momoa, etc); Keaton is Batman in the Flash; and Pattinson is Batman in another series of movies still happening. Bringing back a fourth (!) previous Batman just seems ludicrous. I'm gonna wager all the money* in my pockets that this ain't happening.
