On one hand, there is absolutely the possibility that someone under the age of 50 can play Bane.
On the other, why the fuck would you turn Dave down?

Bane is supposed to be yet another ‘the other side of the coin’, so he could have played against Afflecks pensioner Batman but not so much if they are casting Batman younger.

The starting point should be that the actors are good. Amazingly this doesn’t seem to go without saying. They get completely fixated on them looking the part beyond anything else when it really doesn’t actually matter that much. Good actors make you believe the role. That’s literally what acting is. If they don’t look how you expect, if the acting is good your brain adjusts very quickly. If they can’t act it doesn’t matter what they look like.

I know Tom Hardy can act, yet I found his Bane hilarious.

It's why I've always thought Mama Fratelli should have been Catwoman.

DC still trying to bottle marvels lightening. I would much rather they did something different.
Individual stories not connected to each other or small trilogy type stuff. They snoozed on the marvel model and when they tried to do it they rushed and fucked it up.

Batista would’ve been such a good Bane.
He’s meant to be stronger and smarter than Batman from what I remember so having an older wrestler cast against a younger Batman could’ve been a really cool dynamic.

I'm not sure what the problem is. With R-Pats as Batman, Bane's casting literally takes care of itself.

I thought Tenet was alright. I don't think it's quite as clever as it thinks it is, though. You can tie yourself in knots with time travel oroboros loops and bootstrap paradoxes but it still won't be as good as the scene with the keys from Bill & Ted.

The basic idea was good but the plot was complete shite.
It’s the only one of his I’ve not even seen a second time and not sure I can make myself. There are plenty of great directors that have made a few films that are shit.
Hopefully Oppenheimer is a lot better.

Tenet was an R Patz audition tape for Bond and he definitely should be the next choice.

So what do people think Gunn will actually announce today?
I'm gonna chip in my two pennies:
Superman reboot movie (no casting yet tho) Mr Terrific TV series Peacemaker season 2 Lobo movie starring Mamoa Zatanna movie Green Lantern something or other
I don't think Batman yet but who knows?!

Green Lantern - Guy Gardener could work with Gunn’s style. Used to love 90’s era JLA and JLE.

They’re already making Batman 2. The Batman 2 and Joker 2 I don't think will be part of the shared DC universe, so I think eventually we'll end up with two Batmans.

I read my copies of Alan Moores run on Swamp Thing so many times they actually fell apart. It would be insanely cool for someone to do that properly.

Zatanna, Constantine, Swamp Thing and Detective Chimp setting up Justice League Dark.

Detective Chimp is a character I can see Gunn falling behind.
Tel Toro was supposed to be making Justice League Dark ages ago, it'd be so cool if they got him back to do that.

I would say a Harley Quinn movie was right in his ballpark, but they've already kinda messed that up. Zatanna would be cool. Almost all the things I want are from the graphic novels I've been reading with my daughter: Supergirl, Batgirl, Zatanna, Anti/Hero, Primer, Beast Boy loves Raven, Black Canary etc... (though I can't see Snyder fans being that happy about that as they're all girls! *ew!*
The Swamp Thing TV show was actually pretty good, much to my surprise. I was kinda bummed it didn't get a second season.

There are plenty of great directors that have made a few films that are shit. Hopefully Oppenheimer is a lot better. Nolan definitely falls foul of the internet tendency to hold certain people to insanely high standards then massively overreact when they don’t meet them. If Tenet is his worst film (which is probably is) then it’s still considerably better than Spielberg/Coppola/Scorsese/pretty much anyone else’s worst film. Yes he goes a bit up his arse sometimes and his dialogue is too quiet but FFS, some of the takes on him are ridiculous. It’s like he’ll never be forgiven for only making two of the best Batman films ever by a country mile but slightly falling short with the third (but still making a films that’s considerably better than 99% of superhero films).

There are other characters, like the ones you've mentioned that they should be focusing on.

The best Bond film is that bit in Inception on the mountain.
