Weird. Gunn tweeted recently slagging off some film leak site regarding Cavill, that no decision was made and implying he was coming back. A day or two later he gets the chop. Cavill seems like a professional and a decent guy who was genuinely keen to reprise the role. Why fuck him around or get into misleading exchanges on Twitter? It just alienates the fan base. Not entirely accurate. He started off by saying Gunn doesn't like Cavill, Gunn said that was false, then this was the next reply. |

The DC fanbase are vociferously toxic cunts though. The epic tantrums over MoS and BvS made me glad I’m not that invested. Enjoyed BvS quite a bit TBH, especially because of Gal Gadot. |

Like what you like for real, but man BvS was an overlong pile of wank. I love superhero stuff but I was genuinely embarrassed watching that film at times.

Don’t really get the Gadot love. She’s beautiful but a pretty terrible actor, physically she’s not really the right build, and her incredibly strong Israeli accent doesn’t make sense.
While I don’t think it would be that confusing not to recast her (think Judy Dench in rebooted Bond), I also don’t think it would be the biggest deal to do so. If they want the franchise to be taken seriously they need to elevate the quality of actors well beyond the likes of her and Cavill.

Like I say, I don’t think anyone would blame Gunn or even care if he just pretended like it never happened, same as they will do for the new Bond era. You don’t need to tie yourself in knots to reestablish continuity, wrangle characters into new boxes with a ‘flashpoint’ or anything like that because it’s just a waste of everyone’s time. |

The main problem with the DC EU is that they haven’t made a good film yet. All they’ve done is create a lot of undesireable baggage, so a clean cut might be for the best.

Just give us live action versions of Batman the animated series and Superman the animated series, link them with a live action Worlds Finest movie then finally move into the live Action Justice League animated series movie. Job done.

Or, or, OR, just make individual films with no connections to one another with their own identities without having to think about setting that character for a team up with another character. They don't have to copy Marvel which they've been doing since MoS but terribly.

Was anyone else terrified by Superman 3 when they were a kid? 10 year old me was kinda amused by the Richard Prior character and then completely demoralised by the bad superman part, uplifted when he was beaten only to be scared for life moments later by the vision of Vera's humanity being torn from he bit by bit as she was turned into a robot.
The thing is about that film, as terrible as it is, it was at least memorable
