Can we all just agree that actually Robert Pattinson would have been better served doing a Batman Beyond movie instead? With Michael Keaton as old Bruce? Beyond doesn't get enough love imo. I can get on board with this. Although I vaguely remember when they were thinking of doing a Batman Beyond film after the shit show that was Batman and Robin that Clint Eastwood was tapped to play old Bruce Wayne which would have been something I would have wanted to see. |

No film needs to be 3 hours long but a few managed to be that long and are very good. Films can be any length and be shit and boring. I’d like it to be shorter but the length in itself doesn’t concern me. I wouldn't say that "no film" justifies a 3+ hour length; I've seen plenty that do. But to me it kind of correlates with an increased (and imo mostly not justified) seriousness that a lot of films have about themselves. 2, 2.5 hours is more than enough time to tell a story about a guy who gets over the death of his parents by dressing up as a bat and crippling petty thugs! But no, everything needs to be epic. I blame Chris Nolan. Nolan’s 3 Batman films were 2:20, 2:32 and 2:44. They were all longer than they needed to be, but I don’t think they’re to blame for Affleck and Snyder’s week-long ego trips. |

I was talking about him in the context of self-seriousness, not runtime per se. I agree that his Batman films were relatively lean in terms of that (though you could have lopped off the entire Hong Kong sequence in TDK and it would have made zero difference to the plot) |

Got about half way thru Wonder Woman 1984 before the boy woke up.
I can hardly believe how terrible it is. It has no soul. Criminal misuse of Hans Zimmer, also.

It has a soul, a preachy, stupid soul where the 2nd 5th character of the film is coincidence because the film has to happen. I'm still baffled by the positive reviews it got.

Not seen 1984 because of the pandemic, but it's a shame if it isn't great. The first one was ace!
Moving it to the 80s was an interesting gamble, but i was a bit bummed to realise that would mean no Etta.

WW84 was just very odd and a massive step down from the first.
They could of got away with it in the first film but how does nobody know about her in the present after this film?
Plus the whole other man's body thing is just strange.

I just got sick of the crossovers with the rest of the arrowverse or whatever it's called. It felt like you were missing out unless you were fully up to date with all of the currently airing shows.
It was pretty enjoyable though, so I might dip back in at some point.

Downtempo version on a 90s song? Check
Pretty fucking hyped after watching that trailer. Zoe Kravitz looks awesome as Selina, Farrell looks like he might take a top spot for the best Penguin. Even foot face guy looks decent as both Bats and Bruce. Still would've loved a proper Batfleck film, but I'm well aboard the hype train for this one now.
Absolutely loved Matt Reeves' Apes films (Dawn is one of a handful of films I've seen more than once in the cinema), so have pretty high hopes for this one.
