I am watching the new 3rd season of Kengan Ashura, having watched the first 2 seasons some time ago. It took a bit to pick up the plot again, but I managed it.
It's fine, as far as tournament animes go. It's not as aggressively homoerotic as Baki, and not as "hey what if Hercules fought Jack the Ripper" as Record of Ragnarok, but the fighting at least is good. I just wish there was a bit more of it; there's whole episodes dedicated to not fighting, and they're far less fun.

I havent bothered picking that back up. Like you say, Baki is enough and it wasnt the best looker. Its not as ugly as Gamera, though, christ.

I looked at the Wiki for Pluto, saw the name Naoki Urasawa, and said "yep I'm watching that". 20th Century Boys is probably the best manga I've read in the last 20 years.

Pluto itself is one of the GOATS, easily in my top ten so it’s great so see how well done this is.
If you liked GITS: SAC I would absolutely recommend you get on this.

Started watching Bodies at my dad's, quite enjoyed it and thought about getting a new sub to finish watching it.
But 10.99 a month?
Nah, fuck it. And definitely fuck adverts.

I don't think they offer free trials anymore.
It seems I can use my proxy to sign up for a basic account though.
That'll do.

The app on my sky box finally updated and the ride is over. Can’t say I’m in a rush to open my own sub

Rightio, so The Killer is pretty decent.
Enjoyed it a lot.
I see Edge of Tomorrow is on now too, so i have suggested to my lad that's worth a watch. Hopefully he will, albeit i don't have high hopes.
I'll be watching it again soon if nothing else. 🤣

I finished watching Blue Eye Samurai yesterday. The last episode is a bit weak, and there's basically no surprises throughout the whole show, but I'd still recommend heartily for the animation and action stuff. Definitely up for a second season.

Anyone watched The Killer yet?
The reviews have been fairly positive, but the trailer left me with the impression that I'll be constantly distracted by the "Fassbender tries to do an accent" aspect of it.

Yeah I watched it at the cinema, it's quality Fincher. I didn't notice any dodgy accents, but Fassbender's character doesn't talk too much anyway. There's a lot of Smiths on the soundtrack, which I did not care for, but otherwise yeah, it's a good time.

Watched it last night, chatty hitman flick.
Enjoyed it a lot. Agreed, Fincher is always good value.
The Fass is decent, and the main action sequence is great. 7.5/10
+.5 for The Smiths you heathen Molar

To be fair to the soundtrack, it does fit the character. It's exactly the kind of music someone that dull would listen to.

My only issue with the soundtrack was that they cut each song off far too soon. I can imagine it being like a form of torture if you don't like the Smiths, though.

What about those of us who are completely indifferent to The Smiths, but would happily take up smoking just to use Morrisseys' eyeball as an ashtray?

On the subject of shit music, the Robbie Williams documentary is pretty interesting. When you consider what happened to Lewis Capaldi this year, things have changed a lot in a decade or two. Maybe the newest generation of pop stars will end up slightly less fucked in the head.

Ooh, I wonder if that will mean some of the animated movies will come to Netflix as well?

Obliterated is .. shit?
It's wierd, it is all over the place and very obvious that multiple directors have done episodes but they have an narrative to adhere to.
It's like a mashup of Hangover, SWAT, American Pie and I dunno, Cheech & Chong?
Anybody else seen this?

A Nearly Normal Family 8/10
A Swedish 6-parter about rape, abusive relationships and the effect it has on a family through a criminal trial. It’s set in current day with frequent flashbacks to previous and contested events It’s very well done - written and acted and it doesn’t outstay its welcome. Recommended.

Leave The World Behind
Family goes to stay at a posh air bnb. Oil tanker runs aground on the beach. TV, phones and internet go down. Somethings up!
I did enjoy it, but it reminded me most of ‘The Happening’ which doesn’t inspire confidence in anyone I would imagine. But it’s way better than that. Sadly just as I thought it was picking up and getting good, it finished. I’d watch a part two.
6.66 apocalypses out of Armageddon.
Edit: just as the tv, phones and internet went down in the film, my own internet went down. It was like some fancy fourth wall Netflix shizz, actually it was just virgin media being cunts.

I think I'll probably enjoy this when it drops, as there appears to be at least one shot of Burn Gorman getting kicked in the face.
