Watched season 4 of Fargo and it was very good. Better than 3 and not as good as 1 and 2. Seeing Genny from Gomorrah as a twitchy psycho over from Italy was both weird and completely expected.
8/10

Brand New Cherry Flavour looks good, anyone tried it yet?

Read a write up on Polygon, vomiting kittens, witches, do I want to see it? Sounds proper weird, will need to be in the right mood.
So much content to watch, so little time.

Is the Netflix Witcher anime going to be worth watching?

Anyone given Physical a go on Apple+ yet, I’m expecting it’s their take on GLOW. I’m about as hot for Rose Byrne as it possible to be so I’m trying to figure out how best to suggest it to the misses without looking even pervier than usual

“Physical” is a half-hour dark comedy following Sheila Rubin, a quietly tortured, seemingly dutiful housewife supporting her smart but controversial husband’s bid for state assembly.
This sounds interesting, babe, want to see what it's like?

Mrs Boo and I are rewatching "Grace & Frankie" as season 7 has just dropped. Might not be everyone's cup of tea - Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as two women thrown together when their husbands announce that after 40 years of marriage, they're gay and are divorcing the women so they can marry each other.
Sharp writing, good ensemble cast, and June Diane Raphael as Fonda's daughter, Briana, is one of my new favourite TV characters.

I love Grace and Frankie but feel obliged to tell you that it's only part of season 7 (basically what was filmed pre-pandemic), so you don't feel as disappointed when it's over after just 4 episodes!

Just started Grace and Frankie the other day actually. Characters haven't quite clicked after two episodes, but I can see it growing on me.

Watched a few episodes of The defeated. Its pretty good. Grim but good. Set in 1946 Berlin which I don't remember seeing that often in tv. Kind of police whodunit with a bit of The third man thrown in.

Is the Netflix Witcher anime going to be worth watching? Anime is not my sort of thing. Witcher anime may be the only time I watch it, initially out of curiosity as to how they translate it all into a cartoon.

Grace and Frankie is generally good, the first season is the weakest so worth persevering with.
I gave Physical a go, it’s pretty slow and not particularly funny. Think those 2 episodes were enough for me to write it off

It looks very much like Castlevania, so if you enjoyed that series it's probably worth having a look.
Watched another episode of Grace and Frankie and it's still not quite grabbing me. Have a feeling my missus will give up on it soon and it's not the kind of thing I'd add to my solo watching backlog.

And only about 90 minutes for the whole thing; it was pretty nice to have something with a clear beginning, middle and end for a change. There was some weirdness with character motivations at a couple of points, but overall well worth a watch. It looks fantastic.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf 7/10 Thought it was a series not stand alone so was slightly confused it was still going after an hour.
Pretty good, loved the art direction, story is a little muddled but works itself out.
Enjoying the increasing selection of adult centric animation on NF, if you have not bothered with Castlevania, you should

Started on Turn Up Charlie which is actually not too awful, for some reason Idris Elba is at his least believable when he’s basically playing himself

Also watched animated Witcher.
I liked the idea of telling Vesemir’s story. Having not read the books and only having played the third game it was new but also tied into what I already had some knowledge of.
Agree with the 7/10 above.

I didn't even know there was an animated Witcher! Thanks for the heads up.
We're watching Castlevania now after over a year of not watching anything 'proper', and we're absolutely loving it.

It's a few years old now, but I just started watching American Vandal. It's a parody of a true crime documentary, and the crime is just some high school kid spraypainting dicks on a bunch of cars.
They play it completely straight, it's fucking hilarious.

They play it completely straight, it's fucking hilarious. I watched most of this when it came out. It raised a couple of smiles but not enough to make me care about finishing it. I think knowing none of it was real made it not at all compelling and it felt hollow. They got the style of those kinds of documentaries bang on though so kudos there.

I know it has some real heart in it at times but it is remarkable how much straight up racism is in SHH and its spin-offs with relatively little backlash

I'm Australian, and I have no goddamn clue how Chris Lilley was given free pass to do literal black and brownface with little to no pushback. He won awards! I guess we just don't have the cultural history of that kind of stuff? But even so you think the people writing this shit would at least be aware of how it looks in other countries.

Not only did they nail the true crime aesthetic and successfully stretch a pretty basic joke over a whole season of episodes, but they managed to create interesting characters and a narrative that is genuinely compelling. Season two was pretty good too.

Yeah, it's not (just) the dick jokes that make it great. The characters (especially Dylan) are top notch, and there's plenty of great lines.
Biggest laugh from me was when they were on the phone to the lawyer, and the documentary guy introduces himself
"...sorry, who is this?"
"Yeah, we're making a documentary about Dylan's case. You know... like Serial"
"...ok, that's a terrible idea"
