I'm sure he'll accept the result with the good grace and humility that Bolsonaro has shown over the years he's been in office and not do a Trump.

Yeah that is going to get interesting. There is no way he will accept that result and leave quietly.

Neymar being trolled to "do his taxes" is not the side effect I expected from Bolsonaro's loss, but here we are:

What a total surprise. I would never have guessed that.
Anyway, waiting a few hours then.

Imran Khan getting shot would have been big news once upon a time. Barely registers now.

Russians retreating from Kherson, the special military operation continues to be a royal fuck up.
Whoops.

I think you will find it's not a retreat, it's a totally legit strategic re-arrangement.

I'm looking forward to the clips of the Russian TV pundits trying to explain how this isn't a defeat.

Going from "We've liberated you from those evil Ukranians now youre safe with us!" to nuking that region would be a bit too on the nose even for Putin.

Yeah probably. I am sure it’s all under control. Putin generally is easy to second guess so it’s going to be fine

Weren't there rumors that they could start some diplomacy talks once Kherson was out of Russian hands? Maybe Putin is getting tired and wants to start those talks already.
Hey, one can always hope.

Chances that Russia will now pull out of all Ukrainian regions (including Donbass and Crimea) so that negotiations can actually start?
Would be nice if things went that smoothly, but there are so many ways the situation could could fall apart.

What would they talk about? Russia has proven itself over and over again that they will not abide to anything they say or promise.

Putler needs something to show for the 100,000 dead Russians, all that destroyed hardware and all the economic damage. If he orders a full withdrawal then what would he be negotiating for?

There have been musings about making the Donbas an independent country using the good Friday agreement as a model. War always ends in a ceasefire and talks about how to go forward. It's as good an idea as any.

Any talks with Russia are going to need to involve war crimes tribunals, I would imagine. Maybe not for Putin (that seems unlikely), but for individual soliders and commanders.
Doubtless, Roger Waters and Jeremy Corbyn are preparing their denials, but the UN has already said that there's plenty of evidence that the Russians are responsible for war crimes and human rights violations and there'll almost certainly be more as they retreat further.

I mean they've spent the last month or so using up their faltering supply of cruise missiles to target the civilian energy infrastructure rather than hitting the AFU.

In China Continuing to Midhandle Covid news
They've had some outright violent protests, by Chinese standards, in Guangzhou. Looks like it's poor workers being put under lockdown, not paid and not able to eat.
They're still going hard on zero Covid, for some reason and it's going badly.
