You never know. Insurance is always reinsured again with someone else down the line until it eventually hits the investors.

This seems a very odd tweet.
You would normally march to protest an action not happening. Say what you will about the government (I've said plenty) but the response in Ukraine is one where pretty much all have agreed is the right response, despite the delays in VISA's. What do we have to march about?

If there is one thing that will stop this war it's protesters in the streets of Blackpool. Vlad will be like we have gone to far lads, let's go home.

What do we have to march about? In fairness student's do seem to have started protesting dumb shit happening in other countries that don't really have much to do with Government policy. But yknow students, whatever.

I know Ukraine have offered neutrality in the now completely abandoned peace talks, but if and when they push Russia out they're also joining ASAP right?

There were protests at the start of the war and unless you're some sort of tankie it's pretty much universal that everyone opposes what Russia are doing.
I'm sure he'll be whinging about protestors when anti UK government demos start happening over how shit they are.

I know Ukraine have offered neutrality in the now completely abandoned peace talks, but if and when they push Russia out they're also joining ASAP right? They would need to push Russia fully out. i.e. out of The Donas and Crimea and back to 2014 borders. Or accept they're gone and settle.
You aren't allowed to join NATO if you have an ongoing territory dispute.

Turkey being grownups. They didn't mention any of this in talks before we stated the intention to join of course. PKK is classed as a terrorist organisation here btw, same as the rest of the EU, but Turkey has decided SDF/YPG = PKK and we send monetary and humanitarian aid to SDF, same as lots of NATO countries.
So yeah, this will be fun.

Sigh. I was hoping Finland & Sweden joining would hasten the end of this stuff, but Turkey just has to drag it out longer.

Does Turkey have a vested interest in Russia? They're sort of frenemies, but I think this is mainly Erdogan being pissy about arms embargoes* and wanting to put on a show at home. * He pissed off the US by buying Russian anti air systems and got kicked out of the F35 program, and Turkey is embargoed from certain weapons trade with both Europe and the US.

Don't forget, we're also part of NATO and Turkey's right next to us and has been trying to start shit for a while on the down low, so any move to strengthen NATO (even a little) isn't something they'll enjoy...
That or it's sour grapes because they don't seem to be able/allowed/willing/whatever to join NATO themselves.

Seems that the biggest energy company in Italy has basically given up and agreed to pay for Russian gas in rubles.
I wonder if others will follow. In the end, it's pretty hard to be in a war with someone who supplies you with most of your energy.

Which is why (event though I am not a fan of nationalisation in general) Energy should be nationalised and countries should aim to be self sufficient in energy production.

Turkey has been part of NATO since the middle of the last century Wait, seriously? Then wtf do they care, it would benefit them too??? (also how the hell did I miss that but that's another story... I think I mixed up NATO membership with EU membership...)

Fairly sure Turkey will suddenly be happy when someone gives them a billion dollars or whatever.

It depends a bit on domestic Turkish politics. Western countries' relationships with Kurds in Syria is an issue where Turks are united in paranoia across the political spectrum and Erdogan/AKP hasn't been doing as well lately. It might be pure opportunism and mainly aimed at getting concessions from the US, but Erdogan may be putting himself into a position where it will be hard for him to make a deal and smooth things over as well.

Yeah it just seems like he needs some other concession to go into an election with. I got billions of dollars out of the US can satisfy that. Or something similar.
