Xbox Series X|S

It's easy to predict that the running costs for MS-owned game studios must be pretty high (not to mention how much they invested in purchasing them). Assuming MS owns around 40 game studios and the average development cycle for a AAA game is, say, 4 years, at some point these studios could be releasing about 10 games annually on average.

Are 10 games a year (of varying quality may I add) enough to make the Xbox a stronger contender in console market share, especially at this point of the console's life that it's trailing at third place? I really doubt that, that boat has sailed IMHO.

So, in my mind, MS can either stubbornly insist on full Xbox exclusives no matter what or be smart enough to publish some games on Playstation as well and address a wider audience, simple as that.

Where does that lead the Xbox brand, I don't know. Sure, if these games prove to be commercially successful, we may end with no Xbox exclusive games at all and eventually no Xbox hardware. But bleeding money on operational costs with no extra sales outside the PC/Xbox landscape, doesn't make financial or business sense, something even Sony realizes with their PC published games.

Console wars are for plebs like us, for them it's just business...
