Does the beep when the Xbox turns on make anyone else think of Nintendo?

I’ve never thought about it, but is it the same as the Wii?

I switched that off as soon as you could.

Yeah, no noise from mine either, I've also turned off the home button light on the controller. Fuck me, that gets annoying in a dark room.
So annoying in fact I've ordered myself a GameSir Kaleid with rgb lighting- anyone used one and have any thoughts?

Elite controller and blue guide button is where it's at. Looks great and not annoying in a dark room, or at least not as bad as the blinding white.

Actually the rgb in the controller isn't terrible, and very easy to turn off.
It's rather nice, seems more responsive than the official controller as well. Lets see if the fables about no stick drift are true. The only thing I'm not sold on are the placement of the menu and start buttons - they probably couldn't be more awkward if they tried.

Has anyone replaced the sticks on their controller before. If so, any recommendations? The rubber on mine has started to crater in the middle.

Yep. Did the sticks and bumpers. Plenty of videos on YouTube and you can buy the parts you need on eBay for a tenner or so.

Had some metal sticks on one of my xbox pads when the rubber went, took 5 mins and simple.

Just took the faceplate off my elite controller and sprayed the dodgy RB with electric contact cleaner to fix it intermittently working.
On the plus side it worked, but the controller now looks a bit rubbish with the pristine seal broken.
First world problems.

MS have nerfed the weekly console bonus for playing games, its now 150 points and 25 extra if you have ultimate (it was 250/275) If MS cut down on their netflix accounts, latte and avocado on toast, maybe they could afford to pay the rewards
It use to be so good and now its a even more of a sad joke

I pinned the £5 reward recently instead of 1 month of GP and even that feels like a chore to reach now, especially without the AOE II PC cheese.
Barely managed to finish the monthly goals as it hardly feels worth it and I struggled to find the motivation to even fire up a game quickly to tick off a daily reward. I probably won't even attempt the next monthly rewards on Tuesday.
They've really gone down the toilet.

Will definitely be giving this a go. Hoping it doesn’t chug too badly on S!

Catching up with Jedi Survivor and enjoying it so far though I feel like the combat is the weakest aspect, something about it just doesn't feel right.

I’m running out of storage space on my Series X, so I’m looking into external drives. Are there any third party ones that do the NVMe thing that means they support X/S optimized games, or is it still only the official Seagate ones that do?
It’s annoying because the main reason I’m running out of space is I need both the current gen and last gen versions of GTA - current for me, Xbox One version so my daughter can play with her mates who have older consoles. That plus my son always wants Hitman, Flight Simulator or both. So by the time I’ve installed all that and the other 2-3 games I play, there’s not much left.
I could get a cheaper SSD and stick the last gen GTA on it but that wouldn’t buy me much extra space for the cost.

Advantage of a cheap(er) USB3 external SSD is that you still get faster loading on last gen titles and also it's really quick transferring Series X games back n forth - so with some management of your "what's playing" list you can avoid the still extortionate official NVMe drives.
Which yes, are still the only place you can launch S/X games from directly.

Yeah, that's what I do. 2TB external SSD. Anything I'm currently playing sits on the internal and anything else gets shifted to the external. It's nice and rapid to transfer stuff that you want to play.

I forked out for the 2tb expansion. I was bored of having to sort myself out for the rare online sessions with a bunch of mates, when I always end up with the wrong games. And then it's obvs also the day my downloads go down to 30mbps (curse you Virgin).

Good to know, I’ll probably go for a cheaper external SSD then, I’m not paying for a 2Tb NVMe when I could spend the same money on a Series S for my eldest and solve the problem that way thanks all

Bought the new Sky Cipher Edition pad, it is well sexy! this is my 11th current pad...you know how people "collect" trainers I think I have the same issue with xbox contollers!
What I am really hoping for is a ltd Gears E-Day console and pad(s) when the game comes out.

Who makes all these decisions? With those weird 18 month developer contracts it’s almost like they’re purposefully trying to sabotage their own business

Used to be the best platform to go to if you were an indie dev. Wonder if it's reflective of the likes of Marvel vs Capcom collection not getting XBox ports either.

Quite funny reading all the xbox fans loosing their sh*t after the announcement of another yet unnamed x-box studios game being released on PS. Burn your x-boxes and all that lol!
