Jambowayoh Sure, I'm not arguing exclusives do not work at all, sure they do to some extend. I'm just saying that MS got themselves in a position where if they don't publish some (all?) games on rivals consoles, they'll keep bleeding money chasing the elusive dream of winning a console war that has been lost on the last two generations.

The bizarre thing is that it was allllll self inflicted and it only took one generation to bring it all crashing down.

They can still do the timed exclusive thing. Didn’t Sea of Thieves have a really good launch on PlayStation? And that game is hardly their best output.

As already mentioned, I assume they're looking at it from a purely business sense.
With consoles now having extensive back catalogues of games available from previous generations going back a decade or more. Sure people might own more than one console, but I'd assume very few would throw all that content away and replace their PlayStation with an xbox to play Indiana Jones.
Sea of Thieves apparently still has 500k players daily spunking money on battle passes and cosmetics. Adding PlayStation players to a content filled 6 year old title you could argue makes perfect sense.
Indiana Jones I'd guess because it's such a high value license, you'd assume will sell bucketloads and will offset the cost of putting it on Gamepass.
Maybe there's an element of MS selling Gamepass to PS players by stealth. Dilutes the appeal of any xbox exclusives going forwards for sure, but I guess money talks and they've not a huge amount to lose at this point.

SoT has sold over 1m on PS.
But from the sounds of it the other games released sold very little.

Other than Grounded I can’t even remember the other games. Grounded feels more like a PC game anyway. Those survival type games don’t tend to do well on console, outside of Minecraft, obviously.

I could be wrong, but any of these pushed that hard marketing wise? I don't recall seeing much of any of these games being on the banner for the storefront. And I suppose on Sony's side, why should they market it, when it's their rivals game on the store.

Saying that.. I can see a big banner for Black Ops 6 on the PS app There's no Indiana Jones.

Yeah, I remember they were announced during a stream, but no marketing. They did the same with the Ori games on Switch, but Cuphead had some additional marketing at least.

So just checked my visa and Xbox have charged me £69:99 for Star Wars even though I was using £31 in xbox credit, it even says on my order history on my xbox, payment Visa AND xbox credit, but on my actual MS account (and bank statement)I have been charged (not pending but charged) the full £69:99 Cunts.
Trying to actual get to speak to someone at MS/xbox is an achievement in itself, when I did get through I got cut off ? the contact info on their help pages is a pile of wank. Not happy at all. If I was going to pay full whack I would have got an actual copy (I could then resell) for £55 off amazon. Any one else experience this and got their money back ?

I thought you could just do digital refunds via the store, you don't need to call anyone?

Yeah, if you haven't played it yet, should be no problem to just request a refund via the online form

Yeah, just login to the MS Store online and you can apply for a refund for anything within a few weeks of purchase. Usually happens pretty quickly and don’t think I’ve ever been turned down.

Hi Derbs It is not that it is the fact I had £31 in xbox credit against it (and can prove to MS) and the rest on Visa but they charged me the full amount of £69:99 AND I have lost my £31 credit balance, Cheers anyway to you and others for replies and help.

I had a very similar issue when I pre-ordered Alan Wake 2. I tried to use my xbox credit but they kept taking it out of my Visa. I spoke with someone on the chat box but cannot remember what I had to do to get it to work. I think I might have ended up pre-ordering on my laptop as opposed to on the xbox to get it to use the credit. It was very frustrating though.

Don't shoot the messenger, but is it possible you spent the £31 of xbox credit on something else between ordering and shipping? I know if you pay for something entirely using credit they take payment immediately, but if you do a mix they take payment at despatch - so in the meantime you can top up with enough credit and they'll fund it that way, or spend all that credit and the full whack will hit your bank card. Just a thought.

In other news apparently whatever the issue with Capcom was has been resolved and Marvel vs Capcom and Fighting Collection 2 will both be on Xbox next year.

Just a thought. Hi mate Thank you for getting back, I did find out the issue. I used the gamepass quest credit towards SW but as I pre-ordered over 90 days in advance the credit was cancelled as it run out, you would think they would let you know this*. I said to the XBox representative that I did realise you must spend it before the 90 days but as I loaded it towards a pre-order I thought I would be ok, guess what you are not ok it will simply expire. Shitty practice from them I feel. *it may well be in small print, but even if it is I think it is wrong.

Free advertising. They already said ages ago that they wouldn't be working on the Xbox version until after the game had shipped for PS5. This was because they lacked the resources to work on 3 versions at the same time and because of their marketing partnership in Asia it made sense to drop Xbox.

That's what I saw but last month they randomly listed it as launching day 1.
Seems they were telling the truth as Spencer got involved to sort things out and they are now working g to get it out around launch.
After 6 years Sod2 will be getting it's final update later this year. Easily one of my favourite games and it's pretty crazy how much it's improved since launch.

Anyone else having issues with quick resume not working on series X ? last couple of days none of my QR games have actually "quickly resumed" but simply gone back to boot up. I am in the Alpha xbox program, so it could be that ?
