The Xbox is such a great console. Looks sleek, silent running, quick resume, the wireless head phones are brilliant and controller is almost perfect and game pass costs like £6 per month on the usual easy deals to get and when I have to buy I game I get two copies for some cheap code on cd keys.
Then there is my sons S which for the price is amazing, can’t knock it.
Positive post of the day.

Anyone else prefer the Xbox One controller to the series x?
Just me?
I know they are very similar but the new one just doesn't feel as comfortable

Is there actually any difference other than the fascia?

The D-Pad is noisier. In fact I feel all the buttons are noisier, but maybe I’m remembering it wrong. Either way, it’s not a controller I enjoy using it I’m playing with a low TV volume.

Everyone's controller quality seems to have taken a dip over the last 10 years.

I dunno, the Switch Pro Controller is fantastic. Battery life in particular.

I'm using the Kaleid, it's nice. Only gripe is the rumble makes the trigger rattle, but you can turn down the intensity a notch and it goes away. Have just enabled 1000hz polling so I'll let you know how that goes and if it's noticable over the standard controllers 250hz.

I had to get a replacement under warranty for my Series X controller, and I had to fix the triggers on both my PS5 controllers, as the little springs broke

The series controller is the best controller out there and it’s a hill I’m willing to die on. I’ve got the FH5 controller and it’s great. The rubberised grips are excellent, can’t say I’ve noticed the buttons being noisy. All I’ve done is replaced the sticks after wearing them out, but that was a doddle.

It's always the RT button that goes first for me. Not helped that 98% of games make it the main button you will press all game.

It's a great controller but why is the D-Pad so bloody loud?
Playing Street Fighter VI sounds like I'm bloody tap-dancing.

Don’t know if I actually have a Series Controller - I presume one must have come with it but I probably donated it to the kid, who shelved her Xbox One S months ago. Maybe I should dig it out to compare to my Elite Gen 2.
They are the best BtW, except for the horrendous price and the sometimes sticky RB.
But the ‘hair trigger’ thing alone saves so much fatigue. It’s only ever turned off for driving games here.
I did used to like my PlayStations but I just do not have the time or money now to have everything. But I never liked their pads. My PS4 used to switch itself off too - the shell casing had a slight warp that meant it could shrink with heat and hit the very soft power switch.

That's how it always went in our house

The clicking of the Xbox controller D pad is ridiculous. I can't imagine sitting in a room with someone using one while trying to do something else

Nope as I still use the Xbox more as game pass we share and any purchased games are shared on the account.

+1 for hating the clicky dpad. Even when playing with headphones on I find it distrctingly loud. SX controller ended up in a drawer somewhere and I use a One controller instead on PC.
Elite gen 2 is bloody great as a main controller though, even if mine looks a bit ratty after I opened it up to fix the RB issue.

Which reminds me, I got two Elite controllers (both gen 1 and 2) that have a LB issue (I blame Sekiro) and that should not be acceptable in any controller priced that high (not to mention the rubbers coming off)

Yeah mine suffered from the rubber coming off. Decided against getting another after seeing it was a well known problem.

As much as I enjoy holding the damn thing (love its weight) its parts quality is pretty low; hell, I got x360 controllers that are working just fine, ffs!

All this talk of the D Pad made me realise how little I use it. Think it's due to Xbox controllers having crap D Pads for so long.

Couldn't resist, although they'll probably turn off the servers in a year or so knowing Ubi.
