There was 2.02 patch for cyberpunk this week. MS needs to let you download the patch while you play the game then inform you can update later, which is how ps4 does or did its patches
I would like to see new fallout game but after F4 and starfield, its going to be meh unless they get new leadership. It shows the game industry has to remake games as soiem studios can't make something really amazing like new vegas (unless NV remake gets the starfield treatment)

Blocks on controllers is something I find really annoying. I have an older HORI stick I bought for the 360, it's USB, and yet I can't even use it on my Series X (let alone PS). With wheels, it's even more of an issue.
The only reason I can think of that would be a legitimate bonus for customers is to prevent older relatives buying the wrong controller as a gift (if there were loads of cheap/shit ones on Amazon), but that can be remedied with communication.
It's purely to the benefit of the companies getting an opportunity to make money of an official license, without any benefit to the consumer.

I think MS have been pretty good at supporting controllers from last Gen to this gen, but I recall that older ones couldn't do the same authentication (probably bull shit  . |

Splashed out on a wee (didn't realise how small !) S with 3 months GP bundled for 60fps DayZ and some Starfield shennanigans during the dark months, and the ballache of "use the app" rather than console itself to do the very basics is making me regret it already.
Finally got it all up running, but by god it was tiresome.

It's definitely possible to do it without the app because I've never used it. I do find MS's 'way' of doing things quite annoying a lot of the time though

I had the same with my series X. App didn’t work properly and has a number of glitches.
Wasn’t expecting to have a smoother set up experience with Sony over Microsoft!

Think I found my main issue, I'd selected some option for security requiring the app for every interaction, wasn't exactly explained well. Turning that off and living with the risk of someone breaking in and stealing my 'open' console seems fine tbh.

Quick question, if I've downloaded a game on gamepass, if I purchase it later does it need to be re-downloaded seperately again, or does that purchase work as a key ?
Just thinking about how PS works as seperate titles, and whether Xbox is same/different.

You what?? I just turned on my Xbox and before it went to the dashboard I had a screen asking me to buy modern warfare 3. It was buy or exit which took me to the dash.
Fuck off with any of that bs, especially a cod game which to me is the worst thing in gaming.

Haha, yeah had the same last night. Full screen ad on boot up before I got to the Home Screen and had to cancel out of it. Directs you to the £99 version in the store, or another special edition.
I need to send Microsoft a link to the boundary song they teach my 3 year old niece at nursery.

Hopefully it's a one-off. Who even clicks a pop-up ad and spontaneously drops £100 on a game anyway? Very few people I'd have thought, yet Microsoft thought it was worth ruining everyone's Xbox experience for. Very bad decision.
The game's media need to call this one out. The Xbox dash ads are already invasive enough.

Yep, on my Xbox this morning as well.
I very rarely get bent out of shape over the ads on the dash, or on my smart TV, or the kids Amazon tablet lock screens etc. Annoying but not instrusuve to the user experience really.
But this feels properly fucking cheeky!

Wonder if someone has figured out what to add to pihole/adguard to stop this yet...
I've been pretty lax with not blocking anything Xbox related, as you can just largely ignore ads. If they're going to pull shit like this then it's getting locked down!

I had the MW3 today, had starfield and motorsport one on series X console in the past.
thing is the fanboys angrily defend this and attack anyone who says anything on unsocial media or reddit. They say people are "moaning" or its "not a big deal", the thing they will never get is MS will do it more and become worse eg 1 minute unskippable trailer. and the fanboys will clap like dumb seals wearing their xbox onesie while using their xbox fridge to chug down their xbox branded mountain dew
