Thank you man. That means a lot 🙂. I don’t seem to be able to write and play any other kind of music so I guess it’s what I do!

I shall definitely have a listen too, nice one for doing all the work man, I'm sure it'll sound ace. We did our gig in town again last night. Was ace. None of us put a foot wrong and blasted the lot out 100%. Getting some good feedback now and it's amazing how quickly you meet other musicians. The band we were supporting (peacock method) were great too, along with the other support band (ventrelles). It's so good to be able to play, and then be able to chill with other like minded people and listen to each others stuff. I think we might even get some money for this one. I could buy a new set of strings haha

Ha! I remember those days!
“How much money did we get?”
“Well, enough for either half the petrol or that new roll of gaffer tape that Terry’s been on about…”

Haha absolutely! We don't give a toss as it's just so much fun, but yeah, maybe a squeaky toy for the drum kit would be nice or something

"Where's our money?" "You need to speak to Steve." "Where's Steve then?" "He was here earlier but I think he's away." "Will he be back?" "Dunno."

quadfather I'm going to be in Manchester from time to time from now on, so hopefully it'll coincide with one of your shows. I'll keep an eye out.

What bass is that one? Have I seen that?

I think so. It's the one I use for all gigs. It's the jazz ultra, but I've swapped the pick guard out from the original boring white one
I've played it so much now, it just feels bang on to me

It's nice! Looks very funky with that pick guard.
I'm back to the album I'm working on with my mate now. He's just given me a ton of tracks so I get to actually play more bass again. Which is nice. I really do miss playing it live now but so long as I've always got new stuff to work on, I get to keep playing. It's funny that with my own stuff no matter how much I love laying down the guitar, there's just no substitute for the actual feel of playing the bass in comparison. I'll always prefer it.

Cheers, yeah it needed funking up a bit more.
Great news on the tracks. Sounds like you've got loads to go through now.
Hah yeah, I'm the same. Love pissing around on synths but bass is number 1

That new Extreme track everyone’s talking about really is a banger, Nuno’s playing is unbelievable. Can’t think of many bands who can still sound relevant in their 50s/60s

wunty I think I like the last two best, Vard-ger (sorry, can't get that character on my keyboard) and The Endless.

Nice one! I'll ask our synth player where she gets her reviews for our band and let you know. I know she uses distrokid to distribute it but that's about all I know

I normally use CDBaby for distribution but did it through Landr this time. They were cheaper and faster (but yeah, that typo though...). Maybe try distrokid next time!

Weirdly The Endless was my least favourite all the time I was making them but I quite like it now. It had too many sung bits in it and I cut big chunks out as it was even more stoppy starty than it is now. Think it sounds good the way it is. Thank you!

Committed to doing another covers gig, staring at Fucking Hostile with a sceptical eye. My wrist is going to hate me.

How is everyone's musical endevaours going. Quaddy any more gigs?
I'm back at it again after finishing my writing for just now. I've missed it. Another wee album in the works.
I say wee. My mate has just given me a handful of sticks with about three albums worth...

Not really. We've still got one booked for November at the Golden Sun, or Golden Lion, or whatever it's called in Todmorden supporting the San Pedro Collective again, but just pissing about practicing each week at the minute. Guitarist is being a dick again, so I'm sort of mentally having a break tbh.
Haha, that's good news your side though! Plenty of work to do there.

Probably not a bad idea to mentally take yourself away for a bit, but at least you're keeping the hand in, so to speak!
Yeah. Just more punk stuff. Will be another release that slips out unnoticed but so what. it's fun and it makes me feel good!

Yeah, will just see how it goes.
Too right - the whole point is to have fun - I'm sure you'll enjoy it and it'll all sound great.
I'm coming to terms with getting synth tracks recorded now - it's a bit of a slow process as it's quite difficult composing a song played over 3-4 synths + drum machine and actually getting the sections right. It's enjoyable, like you enjoy yours, but I need more time to sit down and do it.
Like in the daytime, instead of getting super stressed all day with a bullshit job and a bullshit manager for example

Something in the air at our place. Something is going to have to give soon. It's probably going to be my sanity, but we'll see.
I'll have to listen to last week's band tracks and see if anything is sticking and have a practice. There's been a few good ones recently, so I might just dive into that later

With us it's a combination of an incredibly ill man trying to do more than he's capable, and things getting incredibly busy, whilst also being short staffed. I just started laughing yesterday and was worried I wouldn't stop.
I need to do more bass. I was actually even struggling with octaves last night. Got it laid down but couldn't sustain the playing long term!

Hah, that's the serotonin kicking in when you've had enough - your brain makes you laugh to cope with how absurd it all is - I get that too Our is just slowly getting worse. My boss has setup a project management office function, and tbh, it is not working very well. I'm getting shouted at from different people and have to get them to make their fucking minds up all the time. Something will give soon after a chat I had with my ex-boss who also works near me (who is a decent guy). We'll see. It's making me ill with stress though - doctor is warning me about it again. Yes, get on your bloody bass! When you do octaves do you slap, or just use thumb and a finger? I can't slap consistently, so I have to use thumb and finger and if it's fast, that's bloody hard
