The pickup selector can get in the way a bit when strumming. Other than that they're pretty great.

Ah, I naively assumed that a basement had no other means of entry/exit. It's ground level at the back. It's because of the contour of the land. Bloody handy when you've got a piano!

We live in the top two floors of a three storey building. My piano came up a narrow flight of stairs, driven up from my parents house by a specialist company. They had it in position in 15 minutes without a mark anywhere. Bloody impressive.
I'm never going to get it out though, besides rolling it down the stairs and hoping for the best.

Does anyone mess around with synths and music production tools, DAWs etc? I do and am a bit of a Polyend fanboy. I just received the Polyend Play and it seems like a lot of fun. I will be exploring this one for a while yet!

Hmmmm, synths... Rings a bell. Now. Don't think we have any synth players here.

Ah is it a groovebox? They can be great fun.
The thing with the buttons is you don't have to press or tweak all of them all the time you know? It's quite a sedate experience, and especially if you're doing some ambient chillout like tangerine dream or something. You just adjust stuff as you go. It's kinda like cooking.

I will be exploring this one for a while yet! I do! Check the previous page. I mainly play bass in the band but with a little synth here and there but when I'm at home doing my stuff it's all synth and a little bass instead. Type of stuff do you do and what's your setup?

As I said I’m a bit of a Polyend fan. Although I use Ableton, I try to get away from my laptop as much as possible. I use the Polyend Tracker, and other bits and bobs. A Medusa and some Behringer gear. The Crave is quite good for the price. Elektron Model: Cycles for drum sounds. Microgranny for some granular madness but the tracker does that now.
I used to be a singer so I try and add vocals. Anything electronic is valid, I guess I try and emulate my heroes, Radiohead and Oneohtrixpointnever (Daniel Lopatin). I love drones too. My brother is a big modular nut and digitakt user. We get together and jam out on dub techno business. He has cool stuff like a Lyra and Moog DFAM, Subharmonicon. He also has an Argon8 which I love the feel and sound of. So much gear, so little time..
The Play seems like a fantastic tool/groovebox for messing about with and perhaps performing. I can imagine having a little room at a house party to just get a session on.

I'm a moog nut too. It's that filter We're trying to find something with a bit of a John carpenter horror vibe at the minute for one of the band tracks. It's coming along. I'll have it post it when it's done

Going to take a long time to get all of the stuff out of that one. Your music sounds very professionally mixed, sounds great to me
