I ended up programming the drums in on this song I've done. Finished now. It's not too bad actually. This is the first time I've actually picked up a guitar and bass in a few months, so it felt good. It was nice to just record a wee cover on my own for fun.

Really good mix man, everything sounds great I'm getting strong iron maiden vibes at the start, then the punk takes over but half way through the maiden vibes come through again. So cool. There's a bit at the end where there's a bit of guitar solo but its down in the mix volume wise. What would that sound like if it cut through a bit more? Or does that take away the punk vibe? |

It's actually a cover of this song: youtu.be/oUOYODllgEETo be honest the lead bit is just there to add a bit of texture to the end but I could ramp it up when I'm next on Reaper and see what it sound like  I still don't know (because I never sit down and actually learn properly - well, I've picked up bits here and there I suppose but I could definitely stand to learn more) what the fuck to do with levels so I just faff until it sounds decent, so that's nice to know it sounds okay ha ha. I've got a bit of level automation on the vocals that syncs with the music and helps keep it all relatively level. I've learned not to have the bass too high in the mix either as it takes over.

@wuntyate that's fantastic dude. So tight, so well sung (I love the "aaaahh aaahh aaahh" harmonies) and the mix is great. I thought you were just a power chord chugger on guitar - that little lead line at the end is ace!
