Do not get into synthesis. Ha, no danger. I'm barely playing the stuff I've got.
Spent all last couple of weeks mixing all 19 tracks of this fucking album. Nearly there! Just need to do the bloody artwork now.
Meantime I'm taking the boys electric drum kit upstairs. I've done my own wee punk cover and I'm going to try doing the drums manually. With an actual kit. I'm sure this will go well...
You not adding a saxophone track to your songs? Good job on the tracks though. Mixing 19 isn't exactly a 5 minute job! Can you play the drums?

Haven't played in months! Need to get back to it.
Tell me about it... Over a year to do these 19, but it's been my slow ass holding things up.
Erm. No. But I can hold a rythmn. May as well give it a bash!

Riffs mostly. Heavy/Classic Rock, post rock and Metal in the vein of Sabbath, Led Zepp, Kyuss/QOTSA, SoaD, some Tool, Chilli Peppers up until One Hot Minute, most of what Jack White has been involed with, that sort of thing. Not averse to a bit of indie too.
If I'm still going in 6 months I've promised myself a whammy pedal and the Line6 DL4 delay
You looking to get your slap game on?

Sounds good man!

Yeah, and nowadays you can get free software sequencers or daw's or whatever you want and just put whatever you want looping away. It's a piece of piss now. One thing that's pretty cool is a beatbuddy drum pedal if you want interactive loops. It's basically a stompbox pedal, like any other one, but when you press it once, it does a quick intro and then does the main beat for ever. While you're playing guitar and say, want to go to a chorus section from the verse, you press and hold the pedal with your foot for about 1 second until the display changes, and then the next 4 bars it ramps up the drumbeat. Then you press it again for 1 second and it goes back to the main loop. AND! if you lightly tap it with your foot, it does a random fill from a selection just before the next bar. You can adjust the tempo, the type of drums used, and the type of drum rhythm. Really effective bits of kit. Or you could just use youtube

Nahhhhhh YT can get right to fuck when a piece of kit that cool exists. You've made a sale there!

They are pretty cool, but they're also nearly £300. I think you can get pretty close to the same experience of playing along to drums in several other ways without forking out that much, personally.

I can't remember why I got the other version - I think it might be because it had midi, so I could connect it to all my synths etc to use a master clock to get everything in time.
But the features on that mini one do pretty much everything that the one I have does
The other thing is, they're very high quality samples, almost production levels, so they really do stand out.

Yeah, Danno - listen to Wunty too. I'm a hardware geek, so you probably want to see what software is available as well. Unless you're a hardware geek as well.

Ah, can't help you then Just play open I'm constantly lusting after new pedals, and there's little chance I'll be able to resist a little drummer box, but I'll check the software out as well

Right handers are better off playing drums closed I reckon. Though I'm left handed and play open and I can't for the life of me work out in my head how you'd play it closed. It's just totally weird.
Ah, so you *are* a hardware nerd then. Welcome, Welcome.
Do not talk to me about synths though. It'll be your downfall!

Anyone used a bluetooth transmitter on their amp? I imagine the delay makes it a fool's errand?

I’d expect so for most of them. Not sure what magic Line6 or Boss use to make it work

Bought a pedalboard and it’s bigger than I expected. Lots of empty space but instead of returning for a smaller one I’ve, er, bought more pedals

Cheers, those systems are a bit beyond what I'd like to pay so I'll stick with the headphones socket

An MXR chorus, Fredric Effects Zesty compressor and a Harmonious Monk. Also a Strymon Ojai because I’ve run out of sockets on the Power supply
