Yeah, I may change the nut if I'm honest as it's doing my head in a bit that I can't get heavier strings on it. Lovely sound though. I inherited it from my brother after he moved to the other side of the world.
I hate tremelos. I used to have an SG with a floyd rose and I wanted to lob it into a skip. Put me off trems for life. Also you don't need a trem when your limit is three power chords per track...

elstoof Hmmm. That's a good question actually. I THINK so. I normally only use the bridge pickups but I used both the other night when I was recording something. I'll double check later as I'm doubting myself now. If the neck alone is noise free then you know it’s a problem with the bridge pickup or it’s signal path. If it’s just as noisy then theres a wiring problem |

Added a bit of age to a new pickguard and knobs the other day, went better than expected. First time doing any relic stuff. Doesn’t really come out on camera too well, just looks like a dirty bit of mint green in the flesh  |

Attacked it with some shoemaking tools, sandpaper, then stained it with some leather dyes. Didn’t expect the dye to work after reading stuff online but after completely fucking one guard by pouring it on neat I knocked it back a bit for the next go

My stuff is in my office, so I have my own space but I spend most of my days in there anyway so it isn't always where I want to be of an evening, too. I already love the Les Paul. It's heavy but it's kinda tiny (it seems/looks it) and really nice to play. The tone is great and the feel of it is lovely. Good choice. |
