Think I'm at the final boss now. I've done 120 shrines or so and decided on the weekend to just mainline the fuck out of the story now. It's been great, but I need the game to be over now. I'll come back and do the rest once DLC is out.
I really liked the game, though I actually kinda wish I couldn't just fly everywhere so easily, as there's some decent chunks of the map I've not really gone anywhere near, such as the rainforesty area.

Yeah the companions were my least favourite new thing in this and I turned them off. Much preferred BOTW's version

PALPOW are doing some nice LED backlit Zelda themed Switch Pro Controllers. They can rotate through 7 colour schemes, and have swappable D-pad styles.
The photos of the backlighting are much better at their Instagram:

Finally finished last night.
Incredible game and I didn't even really use the building feature to its fullest.
Top 5 of all time for me.

I might be dead inside because I'm still not enjoying this that much. Any new addition doesn't interest me still. Any enjoyment is from the bits that were taken from botw.
Currently doing the main mission where I'm veeeeery slowly making my way up to the storm cloud with the stupid bird kid that gives you almost pointless gusts of wind. Turned it off when I realised to get to the next section I have to build something to progress. Instantly eye rolled and pressed power. It was another fire with balloon type contraption and even though I'm early game I've built that too many times already.

I must admit I've done the same thing I usually do with amazing open world games- play it to death for 80 hours over a period of weeks, get burnout, fall off it without ever completing it (see also: Elden Ring)
I still think it's an incredible game, just need a bit of a rest before going back into it

I think you’re at the most linear part of the game, but I don’t remember building to much myself. Except for helping reunite a korok. I did learn to love Ascend at that point, though! |

Different strokes for different folks I suppose |

I am making good progress, wasn't a fan of the fire temple though. As others have said it's at its best when you end up doing random stuff unplanned.
I find it amusing that my favorite bit of this whole thing so far is keeping those signs up. Mental

I finished it with the Switch recording me as playing over 175 hours.
I got into a neat little loop of uncovering more of the depths map and then doing the corresponding shrine.
Loved the little nods to previous games too.

Just done Fire Temple. Fairly good.
I do enjoy the boss battles more in this. But still blast through a temple in 30mins or a more.
And performance in Fire Temple was really bad.
Still and incredible game.

I got to the electric temple and completely missed where I was supposed to go inside. I ended up clambering up tonthe top and the game clearly didn't intend on you doing that because the game turned into a bloody slideshow. I've never seen the performance tank as bad as that.

That's... weird. I remember climbing up top after the boss battle and I didn't notice anything bad... Maybe the sand shrouds being around made it worse? |

Just finished my 4th and final dungeon today (Gerudo), I have all the towers done (first thing I did after the initial stages was go hunting for every tower, because I just hate the feeling of continuining with the main quest with only a part of the map complete!), about 50 shrines, 30 koroks and nearly all geoglyphs.... I've been looking forward to getting to this point because now I can go proper exploring and shrine hunting without the nagging feeling of main quest dungeons to do, I'm just about to go and get the shrine sensor and go on my merry way. I'll also go and smash out some side quests from the various villages etc., find the final geoglyphs and try and find all the various construction items. I really want to build some of the crazy mechs and attack drones I've seen online.
At some point I'll get the urge to go and complete the game but I'm defo not there yet, having an absolute blast I've gotta say. Absolutely fookin loving it.

That’s how I initially wanted to play this game, but literally everything is a distraction. I’m also on way way to upgrade the Pura(?) Pad, but I still have 2 Temples to do and another 60 odd shrines. I think I’m at a point now where I would be comfortable putting the game down for a few weeks to make room for something else, but I will absolutely finish this game and rinse it of everything it has to offer.

I don’t know if this has been discussed already, but unless I have had an incredibly lucky run it would appear that wooden crates drop different items depending on how they’re destroyed. If you smash them you get arrows. If you burn then you get apples.
Could be a coincidence, but since I’ve noticed this I have yet to have any other kind of result.

I'm firmly in the dicking around stage having done the four dungeons and the next quest after that. Got about 30 shrines left though no idea where and been hunting sky dragons to upgrade the deity armour. It's so great for just picking up, doing a few bits and putting down again.

Done the 4 regions, nearly sorted out the master sword (that was hard and not obvious!)
I'm trying to find the last 3 geoglyphs without resorting to googling.
