Are you actually joking? One of the people I just spoke to in lookout landing said it was south east. I really should know where these places are having played botw so much but it's like this game gives you hyrule amnesia. Askew has east/west dyslexia like me. It's South East I promise

Look east from lookout landing and head towards the big ring you can see on the horizon

This is so good I resent it a little bit. I keep finding myself in a rush to get to the next shrine/point of interest/whatever and I'm constantly realising that I'm not properly appreciating the present moment.
The one thing I hate is the stamina bar for sprinting. It should have Galleon's system whereby you just keep getting faster as you run. With that it would be perfect.
Reading this comment back, it sounds so negative for what is definitely a top 5 all timer for me!

At the 70 hour mark and I’ve only just noticed you can use gyro to move things around with Ultrahand. Was this also the case with Magnesis in the last game? It’s so much quicker than using the stick! Just tested Magnesis in BoTW. And turns out you can use gyro!

You're right it is south east. Follow the roads and you should find it.

ned Mind blown. Even shaking the controller to unstick something is more intuitive. And you can rotate and move an object at the same time! Now watch me forget this and bring it up again at the 140 hour mark!

I played this so much today my wrists hurt. Properly got into it. Who needs to go outside and melt in the sun.
Done the four temples. Decided to go and get all the hieroglyphics before I press on. Give me a chance to explore a bit and have some fun.

Today I have found kakiroko village, it's right next to a lookout tower that I've already activated.

And all surface shrines located! The Lightroot Method worked like a charm, all it took was a little elbow grease comparing the two maps, then some intuition and logic to figure out the spots of the ones I couldn't already mark. Didn't even need a map I am still missing two shrines in the sky, but I'll hazard a guess they're both around the Water Temple, like the Wind Temple had.

So I'm at the final boss, got there with 3 hearts remaining and the rest of them are gloomed out. Used all of my gloom recovery food getting to him. Can't teleport out so I can't do anything.
Any shields I have he breaks in one attack so looks like it's game over.
Don't really want to reload a save as I haven't enjoyed the bit leading up to this and don't want to do it again.
Guess I will YouTube the ending but make sure you spend an hour sat in front of a cooking pot before you do the last bit.

Frog can you make more gloom recovery food on one of those zoanite item portable pots? Or do you mean you used all your ingredients as well.

Don't have a pot and can't teleport away either, I'm basically stuck there unless I redo the bit I've just done from an older save. It's fine anyway, I'm not desperate to do the last boss and will watch the ending on YouTube. Was more of a warning to you guys to make sure you are fully loaded up on gloom resistant stuff before doing the last leg as otherwise you may hit the same thing.
It's partially my own fault as I get bored cooking quite quickly so tend not to have massive food supplies.

Got the Master Sword and the Hylian Shield, which is nice. Considerably easier to get than in Botw. I keep thinking about powering through to the end as I'm pretty close, but there is so much to do still and I'm not burnt out yet after 60+ hours. Pretty sure I was tired of Botw at this point.

My 7 year old managed to get the Master Sword last night too with my help as copilot. The boss fight to get the map marker to find it was the hardest yet and I really hate those Gloom Hands too.

I’m loving what they’ve done to the lava pit behind Goron City. It was an nice little moment when it clicked as to where I was. I’m glad I took the route I did up the mountain, rather than following the same route I’d have taken in BotW.

Yeah they are mega twats. Although they're toast if you can get above them. I cheesed them in that part by constantly ascending up to the ledge and sniping them with arrows. I looked it up afterwards but you can still get the sword without bothering with all that too (although dealing with the gloom has benefits).

Been playing this predominantly on the TV. I've got an LG CX OLED, and like all my other consoles, have the TV settings for the Switch based around the low latency Game mode with sharpness set low, motion smoothing off etc etc. An AV Forums type approach.
The other day my kid was messing around and put the TV into some kind of "Vivid" setting and holy shit Zelda is transformed. Motion smoothing makes it appear to be 60fps much of the time, the colours are bursting from the screen and AI image sharpening has given it a perceived resolution bump.
It's introduced control lag and some other oddities but overall I'm amazed at what the TV itself is taking care of. Wish I could have this whilst still in the low latency mode.

I use the lowest motion smoothing setting for Switch. Like you say it makes it feel like a much higher FPS and I can live with the slight lag.

You and your fancy TVs. I push the palms of my hands into my eye sockets until my vision blurs and then sit real close to my TV.

I was buzzing though the Depths yesterday on a plane, trying to skip a bunch of the gloom to get to a lightroot in the distance, and had a bit of a shock. I flew right into the Wind Temple boss, who apparently has taken up residence down there. Gave me the fright of my life . Incidentally, whoever it was who suggested sticking a brightbloom onto my Zonai device as a headlamp, great idea. I just wish I'd attached it (by shooting it at the plane) *before* I'd added the take-off rockets. Thankfully Rewind was able to yank it back, but a waste of two good rockets...

Nice. Does it have enough room to move? I made it a mission to collect all the stone slabs before moving on to my final regional disturbance, and encountered a few more shrine quests in the sky. Tried making a VTOL attachment for a glider with springs, but alas I was bucked off. Perhaps if had used a control stick to grab on…

I would love a slightly smaller open world Zelda next time. Not that I’m complaining.

A stabilizer piece might help keep it upright though, although it'll also be heavier...

Just not suitable for the hour or two I get here or there lol I'd argue it's exactly the type of game for short bursts... Or so it begins. Then, after two dozen or so distractions, you finally actually get to what you wanted to check out and it's four in the morning

I'm the biggest lover of BOTW & now TOTK but I have to say, that final boss was bullshit. I took a gazziloin meals and burned through all of them. I'd literally have been soft locked if not for remembering I had the rupee armour which got me through the first 3 phases. Phase 4 was easy but absolutely epic mind you.
Overall the gloom effects in this battle made it exceptionally difficult and not at all fun. Amazing game overall though and like BOTW before it one of the best games ever made
