Having just done the Fire Temple myself, it was a bit tougher to navigate than Wind, but not by much. Also I picked up the Master Sword. Having done two temples, it seemed like a good time. Now to figure out how fusing stuff into it works...

I like how the music in each dungeon changes as you progress through it. Just about to meet the boss of the lightning temple and there were the Gerudo Town cues in there, but once everything was unlocked it became quite tense and unsettling.

Yeah, the progression from dark and subdued to slowly becoming more lively, taking cues from the region's Champion/main city themes, then back down to tense and almost nonexistent when the boss is unlocked is really well done. I'm a sucker for sound design like this in general, and it works very well here.

If you've been marking Lynel locations in the Depths, check the corresponding location up on the surface. You might start seeing something interesting... Every stable up top has a Lynel underneath it. Creepy... Also apparently pinecones make fires burn so intensely that it creates an updraft even from a simple campfire?

I learnt about the pine cones when I arrived outside of Rito. They’re now my primary strategy against the Talos with the Moblin bases on top of them.

My Talus strategy almost feels a bit cheesy.... So far, rewinding their boulders back into them works a treat

I use them in my hot air balloons Do the balloons go up faster when you throw a pine cone on the fire? Might have to try that

Yikes. Switch thinks I’ve done 100+ hours on this. Four weeks?

I am on 65 hours, but 40 of that was week 1. My gaming time has been quite limited of late. It’s almost exclusively Zelda though.

The labyrinth has no business being as relaxing as it was Especially the sky part, paragliding around without a care in the world, bobbing and weaving around the walls... And then the dive straight from the sky into the chasm! Unrelated, but the fuck do you mean the Temple bosses are just taking walks in the Depths now?!?

Hah I'm at the labyrinth as well. I got to the sky one first which made it a bit more straightforward.

How odd. I just got to that labyrinth today too.
As someone who enjoyed and respected botw but didn’t love it, I can say that totk is a certified hall of famer for me. I don’t think I’ve ever come across a game that is basically the same as its predecessor but also radically different. It’s weird.

There just seems to be so much more to do everywhere. I feel like exploring Hebra in BOTW, whilst cool, was fairly unrewarding as there just wasn't that much to do on the outskirts. Seems like there's loads of little stories and interesting areas everywhere now which fleshes out that "oh whats that over there" vibe BOTW already had.
Edit: And I, also just went to the labyrinth last night

A fact massively compounded that there's still three regions I literally haven't set foot in yet. What a stonking game.

Enemy damage is a bit all over the place in this. I'm sat on about 15 hearts and just did the boss after doing all of the temples who couldn't one shot me. Some of the random enemies leading up to him could though.
Looking to press on and get it finished now as I don't want a 100 hour plus game (I'm guessing I'm at about 60 hours) and the niggly things are starting to take the shine off of it. I was looking at it being a solid 8.5 but it's looking like finishing at about an 8 for me which is still pretty damned good. There is so much stuff I love about it but there is just some stuff that really annoys me.

Enemy damage mostly comes down to the weapons they're holding. Also this one doesn't teach you fighting anywhere near as much as botw did, so it's easier to miss or not practice how parrying and flurrying works, as well as other combat tips.

I do feel though the parry and dodge flurry windows are much more generous in this. Still only played a few hours as can't bring myself to play any gaming much atm due to the weather. Doing some D4 co op but can't muster up the interest to get stuck into this yet.

Just rolled the credits, 65 hours on the clock. Wonderful game just like Breath of the Wild. Surprised me how good the building mechanics were and how much I enjoyed it, was concerned it was going to be a bit Banjo Kazooie but far from it.

65 hours and I am one Temple and a Labyrinth down. Haha.
My play time is going to be disgustingly long.

Quite the dichotomy there I'm on the stage of frantically checking my Lightroots (slight map spoiler) against the surface map to make sure that any Shrines I'm missing are only those above undiscovered Lightroots as well...
It's slightly easier to find Lightroots than Shrines because they light up the Depths map as you activate them (and there's no overlap between the areas they uncover, or at least I hope there isn't...), so if all my missing (surface) Shrines are above unlit Lightroots, they'll be easier to find as well because of that.

That aside, I see the Gerudo have kept their title of best shops in the game. Not quite as many arrows for sale as BotW (especially since the elemental arrows were replaced with the Fuse mechanic), but they basically still sell fire/ice/lightning/bomb arrows in the form of bomb flowers and elemental Chu Jellies for you to fuse. They restock pretty quickly, too! Not to mention they provide access to possibly the best weapon, since the Scimitar of the Seven shares the Gerudo weapons' ability to double the attack boost from whatever you fuse to it, but without the drawback of less added durability! With a Silver Lynel Saber Horn, that's a base attack of 138, before food/armour modifiers, on one of the most durable weapons in the game!

At the 70 hour mark and I’ve only just noticed you can use gyro to move things around with Ultrahand. Was this also the case with Magnesis in the last game? It’s so much quicker than using the stick!

Are you actually joking? One of the people I just spoke to in lookout landing said it was south east. I really should know where these places are having played botw so much but it's like this game gives you hyrule amnesia.
