Now I'm picturing a Zelda game with a Mick Gordon soundtrack...

Closest it's got to that was Hyrule Warriors (not Age of Calamity)... Which is to say not very close but closer than any other Zelda game

Gotta admit I loved the Skyward Sword rock music in that.

I think the link (hah) was made because it meant crying. we were in a mourning period. Tears of the (United) Kingdom. Tears (as in ripping) would have been better actually, given that the Hyrule has been ripped apart. The rumour mill is it will have "tears" "ripping" into different worlds of the zelda series. Take that with a huge amount of pinched salt though. That would be very interesting indeed, and would certainly explain why they've barely shown anything. Probably a bit ambitious though so very wishful thinking. A lot of the trailers and rumours suggest that Zelda dies at the start of the game, hence the tears, and again would explain not wanting it to be marketed in the UK during the mourning period.

This whole raid was as useless as that green, Korok-shaped rock over there...
Wait a minute...
There's a Korok behind that rock! The tree!!

So who's going to wait for the Super Switch/Switch Pro to play this?

We might not have to if they come out together Still a bit of time for them to make announcements before May though...

I'd love that haha.
What's the usual length of time between console reveal and launch?
Feels like May would be too soon maybe?

Google says the first Switch was officially revealed as such in October 2016, so an announcement in, say, December would be just about on time for a May release, I think...

If it was like the OLED model, it could be announced just three or so months before launch.

Would that be enough time to get the masses interested though?

Well, it worked well enough last time... In all seriousness, it would be a new Nintendo console, coming out in what (I think, haven't checked) is a fairly dry period in terms of new releases, with not only a Zelda game but a sequel to Breath of the Wild(!) (and probably other things as well if it were a console launch) accompanying it... Chances are the only thing that would make it more of a license to print money would be if it also had an Elden Ring port on top of that

The fan on our launch Switch has started to make ominous noises.... first problem we've had with it in the 5 1/2 years we've had it. I just know if it craps out totally some point soon and I stump up for the OLED, they'll announce the Switch Pro a week later or something. I may have to attempt a DIY fan replacement first I think

I should really finish BotW. I completed it when it first came out then re bought it about two years ago. Started it again about a week ago when I realised how close the sequel was.

I suppose I should start it considering I bought it with my Switch in October 2021.

I loved the first one but my cat wee'd on my Switch so the right joycon doesn't connect. Been meaning to get a charging dock so I can just use the joycons permanently in Bluetooth mode, this is the impetus I need as this game will be essential.

I should really finish BotW. Exactly this. It's a bit of a gaming regret for me, but I've not played on my Switch for years and although I'm not super far from the end I think I've probably got a good 20 hours to go.

I even just pre-ordered Tears to get ahead of the apparent 60 quid launch price, so really should do it.

Hope that £49 preorder price at Hit (formerly Base.com) holds.
