It's very long (long-winded even), but quite fascinating. (The Beatles doc)

I think I fell asleep watching that last night, certainly didn't pay much attention to it I guess. I normally like these sort of music things too. No idea it was a Peter Jackson thing either. Surprised Yoko on the mic didn’t wake you up a bit. Jesus wept. Only watched part 1, but that was brilliant all the way through. Tea and toast for all!

Haven’t watched yet, but going to wear it out I think. McCartney was objectively the better songwriter, singer and, most importantly, human though.

Jesus, watching it now, what a treat and with some proper goosebump moments watching songs take shape on the fly. Wow.

I'm not a fan of the Beatles but seeing that is super cool.

There's a similar clip of Jim Glennie coming up with the lyrics to Sit Down after offering his seat to a pensioner on the bus.

I finally got around to watching The Hawkeyes. All I could think is that Renner has got almost as good a crack voice as Dave Chapelle now.

This bit, right Yeah. That bit. Where you're thinking "you alright mate?" as Paul is just battling to find stuff and then the song emerges.

I'm only about halfway through the first episode but does Yoko just sit there on the edge the whole time?
At least George's guru was off in the corner.

Yeah it's fucking weird isn't it. No wonder it caused issues.
Also Ringo just seems so utterly bored and uninvolved throughout. But plays drums whenever needed like an obedient puppy.

I think Ringo’s heart wasn’t in it at this point, Harrison was feeling cramped and looking to do his own stuff and Lennon was on heroin, Paul trying to hold it all together.
Yoko sitting right there when the four are trying to work is so obnoxious.

Sure, but at least George is engaging with the others. It's just odd, I don't think I've heard him say anything while sat at the drums yet.

Yoko does move away from there when Linda turns up and she just sits to the side doing her knitting. I wondered whether she was there because John needed her close by. The dynamic is peculiar to say the least and I’m not sure they all appreciated it.

That clip has made me want to watch it but I find Paul McCartney to be the most irritating person to have ever existed so not sure I can stomach it.

Think he’s quite different from the AR MACCA persona now, and it’s a fascinating look at the creative process and also interesting to see them off guard as they clearly regularly forget it’s being filmed. Worth it.

Hooked on 'Get Back' - The bit with Peter Sellars was hilarious/uncomfortable - John looked suitably off it/smacked up, Ringo kept saying he was going to be sick and Paul just semi-gurning. Sellars looked like he was in character as Inspector Clouseau (may have been filming next door?), not sure what to say or how to engage with them all out of it.

So my boss has a passing interest in the Beatles, so I mentioned that it was on there to him. You know how sometimes seemingly intelligent, successful people come out with stuff occasionally that makes you wonder how they put their socks on in the morning let alone run a business, well...
"It's a behind the scenes look at the recording of Let It Be that culminates with their last ever public performance on the studio roof."
"You know why they stopped don't you?"
"Because they split up?"
"Because Paul died and was replaced by Billy Shears on Sergeant Pepper. They could no longer perform live because Billy was significantly taller than Paul and people would notice. They went up on the roof so no one could see the height difference. They split up the following year because the other Beatles couldn't live with the lie any longer."

Ooh thanks for the heads up on Devs. In 4k HDR too.
That new Ridley Scott film with Jodie Comer is up there too, the one where Matt Damon cosplays as his team America puppet.

Sergeant Pepper that came out two years before the footage of Paul looking pretty healthy and not dead?

I’ve never heard of the fake paul theory before. That’s a 30 minute google rabbit hole I’ve just gone down!
It’s all in the ears 😊
