The only time I ever saw The Abyss, it was the director's cut. I can't imagine watching the original release now, as I'm told the version I watched was definitely the intended one and explains it all properly.

I've only ever seen the original version, so watching the the directors cut in 4K would be a big deal for me

Started watching Extraordinary yesterday, 4 episodes in and it's great. One for fans of shows like Misfits etc.

Anything with Wet Leg in the trailer is bound to be amazing. Does look quite fun!
Nice to get a season dump with D+ instead of the usual weekly wait too.

Do you need to have watched Boba Fett before Mando s3?

I'd hope not.
Although mando is only in a few near the end.
'Enjoy' the shitness of the space-vespa chase if you decide to give it all a go.

See, that's why I was asking because I've heard he shows up and wondered if it effects s3.

Maybe episode 5 of Bobs Fett. Nothing else of any consequence happens in that show. Ep5 is effectively a mandalorian episode.

Aye, that episode would be a definite one to watch. It's probably fairly important. Not sure it should have been hidden away in another series.
Especially given the other eps were a team combo with a high noon(ish) vibe.

Going to guess no.
Looked another dreadful D+ show.

I watched it. Unsurprising cancellation, it was pretty bad.

They decided to cash in on the nostalgia market by following up a 35 year old fantasy movie with a tonally inconsistent, grating YA series that took the bold decision of having everyone on screen be as big a twat as possible at all times.
It was genuinely baffling. Like someone watched that terrible shannara chronicles and decided ‘this but with more pop culture references’.
And they somehow managed to get Warwick Davies to look like an even worse actor than he is. It’s like they took the shittiest take from any line he delivered and just YOLOd it into the edit.

It was riddled with plot holes, in fact the entire plot made no sense. All the things Nick mentioned above plus they wrote weirdly unlikeable characters.
It reminded me of the Resident Evil writing where people's behaviour was so irrational it bordered on psychotic and strong female leads had to be dicks to everyone constantly to show how confident they were.
I visited RT immediately after finishing it to revel in scathing critiques but somehow it got a load of positive reviews and is sitting on about 83%. Bizarre.

Yes! Resident Evil! It was just like that.
I think it’s probably a good canary in the coalmine for the nostalgia industry. It’s just impossible to tell who this is for and at some point they are going to have to come up with new ideas as Gen X dies off.

It's fine, they'll just turn the sights onto early millennials. Arguably they have started to do that, with X-Men'96.

Triple take, when I realised I've never seen Pan's Labyrinth, despite it being on my to-watch list for years

Yeah, sort that out. It's great Just don’t rent the copy I got from Blockbuster. That DVD was fucking ruined, kept skipping all over the show. Plus the Lamb and Mint Sensations aren’t available any more. But when you see a good copy, it is fantastic.
