Maybe it's just me, but is there really no way of checking the Disney+ catalog before subscribing?
You'd think my choice of subscribing or not might also be influenced by, you know, what they have on there.

To be honest even as a subscriber its pretty crap for discovering shows outside of the Disney/Pixar big hitters and whatever the latest Marvel or Star Wars streaming title is.
The Fox catalogue is deep but quality older stuff quite well hidden

As I've said before, out of all the (relatively minor) TV we watch, we get the most value out of Disney+.
That said, it's almost 100% down to National Geographic and Star Wars.

Main thing that shits me with every streaming service is that there isn’t just an alphabetical list of everything on it. You have to think of a thing, search to see if they have it, then watch the “maybe you’ll like this generic rip-off of what you actually wanted” result

Don't think it's been mentioned here but Welcome to Wrexham is really good and worth watching. It does have a lot of concessions to an American audience (extremely basic concepts are explained) but these are far less irritating than you'd think. It's well put together and miles better than All or Nothing-esque docs. What really makes it are the very authentic interviews with the 'normal' people involved in running and supporting a Non-League club. It even manages to be quite profound in places.
Of course, Rob and Ryan are going to come off well in a series they produced but it seems pretty obvious they have come at this the right way. They don't pretend to know anything about football or running a club, they also don't pretend to be doing this for any reasons much deeper than being rich and wanting a fun project where they could leverage their profiles to build the club as an asset. Clearly the documentary was also envisaged from day 1. Despite this they would appear to be respectful custodians and given some of the owners across the football league, the Wrexham fans have a lot to be thankful for.
The past month I've found myself following Wrexham results, and frankly last weekend was absolutely absurd (should make a good episode). This weekend their FA Cup 4th Qualifying round game is apparently being shown live on ESPN in the US off the back of good viewing figures for the doc! Pretty nuts. I think the idea that they'll get to the Prem (without another investor) is unrealistic, but if they can sustain interest in the US it's not difficult to envisage them getting to the Championship reasonably swiftly.

I mentioned it's excellence a while back, maybe in the Prem thread. It's so much better than any of the All Or Nothing series I've seen, largely because it's so focused on the impact on the fans, club staff, and the community. It's telling that the worst episodes were the ones that revolved entirely around Rob and Ryan, particularly that weird one about introducing Wales.
And likewise, I've also been keeping an eye out for Wrexham's result and how many goals Paul Mullin has scored etc.!

Only watched the first episode, but The Bear looks solid so far.

I'm a big Always Sunny fan so quite enjoy Rob's wry comments but it's pretty clear there's a quota of Ryan involvement to satisfy the US Market. He is the real star I guess. That said, whenever either of them come up against the harsh realities of football, it's TV gold. Watching a drunk Welsh plumber incoherently shouting into their faces about their board appointments was hilarious.

It's probably a quota of Ryan to satisfy Ryan. I'm aware Ryan's Canadian, my point was that he's the Hollywood star so there'll be a lot of people with zero interest in football (many of them in the USA) watching it mostly because they like Ryan Reynolds. It makes sense that he is occasionally somewhat crowbarred into an episode, despite the fact that Rob appears to be the driving force (at least initially) with Ryan more along for the ride.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned before, possibly even by me, but we’ve been enjoying Gordon Ramsay’s Uncharted on Nat Geo with Disney+.
Cue some wit with a “there’s not much treasure hunting, and the combat’s wank” reference…

Add me to the Welcome to Wrexham Fanclub.
Big fan of Sunny, I'm happy to see Rob get a bit more exposure, surely it's only a matter of time before one of the gang gets involved in the MCU.

The Bear 9/10
Binged this today. Chaotic, touching, beautifully acted and treats the viewer like a fucking adult for once. Loved it. Would be good if they did S2, would be great if they didn’t. Highly recommended

I’m intrigued where they take a second season. Ending it with the money to open a new restaurant removes one of the most important parts of the original premise.
And surely they still own the mobster all that cash. He’s gonna get suspicious when they open a fine dining restaurant with a $300,000 makeover.
And Richie already has thoughts on gentrifying the neighourhood.
Still it was satisfying to see

Enjoyed Tales of the Jedi. Unfortunate it was so short. Not going to spoil it but it fills in a few gaps.

First two episodes of Willow are up.I’ve enjoyed the first one, although it has a battle scene in the dark where it’s too fucking dark to see anything. Not sure why this is a new tradition. Cool enemy designs though, I think they might be high fantasy cenobites.

Does it feel like the movie or is it its own vibe now?
I wonder if they’ve got anything as traumatic for modern children as the pig transformation was for 80s kids

I don’t remember the movie, I watched it as an adult and seem to recall that I thought it was shit.
Watched only a few moments of episode 2. I suspect Warwick Davis may be a terrible actor but need to see more.
