Get out of the thread. Disgusting
Also, I thought the mantis fight was the one people struggled with. Love that fight

Think it was the Watcher Knights for me. Struggled quite a bit with that fight and have done on future plays too.
Once tried to do the speed run achievement and followed a guide that skipped getting the double jump and used some object to do a nail bounce off of to reach the area with The Watcher Knights. Managed to do the nail jump (after lots of attempts), but just couldn't do the boss fight. Went to get the double jump and was able to do the fight much easier (still managed to get the under 5 hour speed run achievement too - think I did it in about 4h 20mins or so).
Soul Master was tough the first time, but don't think I've found it much of a block on replays. Same with the Mantis Lords.

I dropped the game at the circus dude. Well, I didn't fully drop it, it's still sitting there and tempting me from time to time.

That's just DLC. You can completely ignore it

I think I have done most of the rest, though.
[Edit] I just checked, and it seems to be his dream form that I'm stuck on. Apparently I haven't played this game since 4 years.

Don't we have rules around here for bumping the Hollow Knight thread without Silksong news?

Silksong is borderline vapourware by now.

Silksong is borderline vapourware by now. It's so odd, but I really do think it's been too long now. It was my most anticipated game for an AGE and now I just sort of shrug at the thought of it.

Yeah, they did announce it way too early on. Kinda feels like its development has probably been rocky. Either that, or the game design has become a huge departure from the formula of Hollow Knight.

If their entire development team is still 3 people, I imagine making an even bigger game will take longer than the 4 years the original game took.
I hope it's not a lot bigger though, given that the first game was probably a bit big anyway.

That first game needed all the tech built from scratch though - the second one (especially as it started as DLC!) must have had one hell of a bootstrap, Shirley?

Deepnest was awful It's done, but fucking hell. You can tell Australian non-arachnophobes made this. I am never going back there.* *hit a walkthrough to make sure I never have to return for any reason except for a boss that I am just going to pretend doesn't exist. Found the double-jump (had started to think there wasn't one at all) and now I'm pootling around the whole map to see what's opened up. Except the Crossroads because that place has suddenly devolved into pus filled bomber hell. If I wasn't so rank bad awful hilariously shit garbage roadkill at platformers I would have rinsed this years ago. It's an astonishing game, but jumping into thorns, getting hit into thorns, charging into thorns, dashing into thorns, getting exploded into thorns, falling 17 storeys into thorns while missing 8 platforms on the way down, or messing up the pogo gauntlets(I slightly blame the Switch Dpad for this, seriously give me a button that lets me hit downwards and I'd be ok) to fall onto thorns** makes me mad in a way that no other game hurdles do. Yes I am now at Queens Gardens. **or acid. I'm on a bit of a boss roadblock soon I think? I've got another Hornet fight that was kicking my arse, the Watcher Knights that were rolling my arse into pastry ready to be blind baked, and a boss that can solve the energy bills crisis for my arse. There's some map bits I need to have a look around as well, I can't find/get to Cornifer in 3 or 4 places

You’re doing well playing on the default controller. I had to resort to the Switch Pro Pad to get through it!

Try the analog stick on the Joy Con. I know it sounds mental, but it’s small enough to be nimble. I think I actually beat this game on Xbox with those massive sticks because I am weird, but it’s definitely doable.

You're basically at the point of the game where I gave up. It just gets to the stage where everything is a difficulty hatefuck, and you needed to get through all of it for the true ending. And no amount of appreciation for the aesthetics was enough to keep me going. The DLCs were just more of that too.
I like (some) hard games. But I think I prefer the kind of metroidvania/souls thing where I have the option to break the game or make it easier somehow. Like, funnily enough, Symphony of the Night.
I'll play Silksong if/when it comes out. But I hope they make it a little more forgiving for people like me who are a bit crap.

I would have loved to 100% this and it was a bit frustrating to hit up against a wall and admit defeat. But I think Mola you might be getting hung up on the word "true" when you say true ending, they're all endings and any of them count as finishing the game in my book.
I kinda like that there's such a high skill ceiling and little extra rewards for those that can achieve them. I can enjoy watching more skilled players flying through the path of pain, knowing it's not something I'd even want to attempt, and I think the devs probably intended much of the DLC content to be a challenge for the more hardcore players. Some players even find it way too easy, there are some amazing videos of modders creating ever harder and more insane challenges and boss fights that people go on to actually beat:
But having said all that, I also hope the sequel doesn't go all-in on the punishing difficulty!

I can't remember where I gave up on this game. The world, audio, art and story are fantastic and it's all wrapped up in frustration as I tortured myself trying to play it with the switch joycons.
Don't have that switch anymore

I've no doubt some people find the game easy or too easy. I'm fine with having an extra special masochist challenge fuck mode for them, so they can brag to their friends or whatever gets them going.
I would just like to be able to properly finish the games I play, particularly the ones I otherwise really like. And if I can't get good enough for that, I'd like for there to be some option to get around it so I don't have to just look up the ending on YouTube.
