What’s going on with track limits then? Hopefully they are not going to apply penalties after the session. Just more FIA nonsense I'm afraid. Why make something consistent and clear when you can make confusing arbitrary decisions? Releasing the report into Abu Dhabi moments before qualifying having had months to do so was also ridiculous.

Well at least the vile little shit missed out on pole.
I don't know why I am watching, all it is doing is making my blood pressure go through the roof.

Bottas casually outqualifying George.
Let's hope the Ferrari engine is legit this time eh.

I don't need AWS to give me any stats to tell me there's a 173% chance Charles and Max are going to tangle tomorrow. My boy Carlos is going to mop up.

I'm looking forward to the F2 sprint race now. Excited to see how Jack Doohan goes.

Really pleased for Ferrari and Charles though. For a long time they were difficult to like but the Binotto iteration deserves a bit of success. More than anything pleased we've got a race. What happened to George though? He wasn't that far off until Q3. My internet died so I missed most of the final runs.

Fun quali that. Gwan Bottas and Magnussen.
First race and all, but could be an interesting season.

I didn't think I had a horse in the race, but I definitely find myself in the "anyone but Max" camp now. Really pleased to see a lot of surprises, and although it looks like it'll be another two team shootout at least one of the teams is "new".

I'm trying not to be in the anyone but Max camp. The shambles in Abu Dhabi wasn't his fault. But mostly because I think it's going to be a very long season and possibly series of seasons if that's how you feel.

Ah I must have missed that, he was purple on sector 1 on his final lap, maybe the graphic was wrong.

He's just a smug, dangerous, prick and I'd rather he wasn't in there. Really all I'm hoping for from this season, though, is a genuine "no fucking idea which of X teams is gonna win this week" where ideally X > 2.

Abu Dhabi wasn't his fault but you can take your pick for other sources of 'motivation'. He's dragged driving standards into the gutter. Lowlight for me is the brake test in Saudi. One of the worst bits of driving I've seen in F1. Proved after the fact by telemetry and only spared a DQ because of the Championship battle.

I don’t like the look of the new cars. They’re like a crappy CGI movie imagining of futuristic racing.

I'm trying not to have too much dislike for anyone as I watched F1 bitterly for too long. Now Mazepin has been shitcanned I think we've generally got the most likeable bunch of drivers you could hope for. I'm fully expecting the Charles/Carlos relationship to disintegrate now they've got a winning car from the looks of it but for the time being it's looking good for this season.
A Max Vs Charles season long battle really would be a changing of the guard moment, a lot like when Alonso and Kimi started getting into it at the tail end of Schumacher's reign. Those two in particular look something else at the moment.

The F2 was great.
Very surprised to see Verschoor and Trident win. Never looked anything special before but that was quite impressive.
Happy for Lawson in particular. Think I'll be supporting him this year. Not sure he's a top level talent but in a fair and just world he'd be reigning DTM Champion. Was robbed in similarly cruel and unethical fashion to Lewis left year.

I can't believe Perez didn't get his time deleted for crossing the white line in Q1, after the big song and dance being made over it being a concrete rule. I fear Masi is going to look more and more of a scapegoat before season's end, because the problems always ran deeper than one decision he made in one race.
I guess 'any' white lines doesn't mean 'all'.

Get in Charles. I’m not all in on the any one but Max camp, I’m more anyone but Christian Horner Camp. I think that’s the first time I celebrated a Ferrari result in a while. Maybe first time Ever haha.

It was good, I don't normally follow it but will try to keep up as best as possible seeing as I can watch it live or on catch up. As for F1, well I'm all for Ricciardo but he is in a shitty McClaren and I've never really followed that team. It's a bit meh elsewise but anybody but Lewis I guess.

Way to early to know who's in the "race" for the title. Plus we don't know how these cars will be over 60 laps. Ferrari might have a "crap" race car. They've gone for a "safe" modular concept so they may make early gains but if the more aggressive designs of merc etc start getting worked out it could be that is the way to go and they will fall behind.....or not haha
The idea of the modular design is that ferrari can change the design without having to redo crash testing etc on the main monocoque. Its just whether this ends up being a "jack of all trades concept"
This is why I think the "arms" race will be just as interesting. I reckon we will have quite alot of different winners this year

I'm fairly convinced things could change quite quickly, and I include the top teams in that.
Merc could gain a huge chunk of laptime, but then by the same token so could anyone else.

Merc found some stability between FP2 and FP3, especially on Lewis' car. It depends whether they've started to make a genuine breakthrough to their setup or they've gone for a cheap and cheerful adjustment to the ride height just to get through this weekend on how quick they can get things turned around.
Red Bull and Ferrari won't be standing still either, and having the fundamentals down puts them in a very strong position to crack on making their cars quicker, quicker.
It is a long season though, which will definitely help if there are points to catch up on if/when they sort it.
