Also, it turns out Perez did have his Q1 time deleted, the new graphics just fucked up as they have done pretty much all weekend and it's why he did another run.

New graphics although I liked the style were awful in terms of delivery. Doesn't help I think there were issues at the track

In FP3 they broke so badly they were removed for the entire session. Amateur stuff.
I also don't like how the driver number replaces the team badge for half the time.

I think a lot depends on how fast the Merc concept could be assuming they even can fix the porpoising without jacking the car up and losing downforce.
Assuming no one dominates the early season (like Button '09) and wins are shared between Ferrari and RB drivers, they've probably got about two months to solve it.

Not sold on the new graphics. Obviously they are broken (which is pretty pathetic given the amount of testing they could have done preseason) but the font feels very dated to me. Strong Championship Manager 01/02 vibes.

Old ones were fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Then again I kicked off when they stopped doing the big yellow numbered boxes when only 6 drivers could fit on the bottom of the screen when the timing sheets came up, so maybe I'm not the best judge here.

They are still miles better than FE (the tower has detailed team logos shrunk down to about 5x5px so completely illegible) and Le Mans (tower only lists car numbers which is just insanity for a 60 car, 180 driver grid).

The driving standards in this F3 are very Verstappeny. This is why it matters. The younger drivers emulate what they see in F1.
Driving very aggressively is easier than leaving space. Loads of forcing each other off track, weaving on straights and moving late, and it just ruins the racing. Had about four punctures from wing to tyre contacts by halfway.

65/72 as well. Pretty much used the same method to get the old ones. I'm a bit annoyed I missed Ascari though. The others I had no clue.

The old graphics were still brand new in my eyes. They maintained a relatively similar style to the old classic graphics, but greatly improved clarity through logical and efficient use of icons and graphics. ... and now they've overhauled them again for no reason. The style looks dated, they don't use the on-screen space efficiently, and the contrast and readability isn't as good for people with sight issues. The only thing I like is the driver numbers being displayed, but I still think identifying drivers is a big problem. The commentators get it wrong half the time, the drivers change their helmet designs every bloody race, so the only thing you can rely on are driver numbers, which aren't easy to remember for the entire field. Maybe forcing drivers to maintain a certain helmet colour is the only solution.

The other notables from F3 were that's it's pretty clearly ART Vs Prema.
Leclerc the even younger did well coming through. Bearman got absolutely monstered at the start but also recovered from 16 to 6.
Stewards handing out track limit warnings like candy. Only 1 actual time penalty but the commentator said almost the whole field had received at least one warning. Wonder if it'll also be a factor in F1 later.

On the new graphics, I thought they were a pain in the arse for seeing how each driver was doing in qualifying. Was trying to compare each driver's sector times and they really didn't work well for that. Maybe they're trying to push people to get the app!

The live timing has been essential for properly following the race for a long time now. The commentators inevitably miss a lot of stories away from the front.
It is annoying that you have to pay extra for it though. Especially because it breaks about ten times a season.

F2 and F3 has been full of young drivers making some very amateur moves for as long as I can remember. Iwasa looks fun.

There's always been an element of chaos in juniors and I'm not holding Max responsible for all drivers or anything. It's more than he is constantly pushing etiquette further.
I'm saying the FIA is responsible for letting standards drop in F1 and letting what's acceptable is drifting towards dangerous under the misguided idea that risking contact is 'hard racing'.
Several more broken front wings in the F2 and christ knows how Nissany hasn't been penalised for his ludicrous defending. Was doing the 'full Max' leaving the track and unsafely rejoining in a desperate attempt to maintain position.

Fun race. Vips and Iwasa were great. Pleased for Lawson too.
Nissany should be getting license points for that, it's the sort of erratic driving that just means people cant race with you for fear of being crashed into. If everyone defends like that, there is no more racing. It bunched the field behind as he was literally +4s per lap off the midfield pace and directly lead to the Verschoor spin for the late safety car. Quite glad that didn't ruin the race for the front three.

Coldish tyres could cause some problems, that was an interesting out lap for Hamilton.
