Was a Hamilton in Singapore 2018/Kimi in Monaco 2005 lap for 26 corners, Maldonado for the last.

It was mighty for sure, looked almost perfect (assuming he didn't tap the barrier out of the first chicane).
To be fair you need these reminders of how slim the margins are to fully appreciate the skill required in going up to but not over that line.
Max will learn from this.

Max looked pretty glassy eyed prior to that interview, but fair play to him, he kept his emotions in check.
This isn't a disaster for him unless he's broken the gearbox, very possible that tomorrow will be decided by safety car lottery rather than track position. Who knows P3 might be advantageous.

They need to hope it isn't a gearbox and then be encouraged by their pace on the mediums in Q2. Max needed just one lap right at the start of the session to be up there with Mercs that did umpteen on a track with seemingly mega evolution. If he clears Bottas into T1 it could still be game on.

My eyes are on stalks just watching this F2 race. I can't remember a modern circuit where you feel like you're just waiting for something awful to happen.
People using the runoff for fun at T1 as well, so could be penalties galore down there tomorrow.

I mean its a great track, speed jeopardy etc etc, however the quote from jurassic park springs to mind. Just because they can doesn't mean they should. Said more profoundly and accurately by Jeff.
It is on a very fine line towards being too dangerous.

I saw someone describe it as Monaco at Monza speeds, and I couldn't agree more.
One of the front runners bins it at T13 on lap 1 for example, and it's going to be fucking ugly.

Yeah wouldn't be suprised if they open it up a bit for future races or at least add a few slower corners. It's a video game track in the real world, I'm suprised it go the green light. I won't lie though I bloody love it for the adrenaline rush. The nose cam footage is nuts. Won't be so much fun if someone gets hurt though. |

Holy shit. Had a busy weekend so have t seen anything of the race. So just watched qualifying. This track is just insane! And the q3 was one for tge history books. I cannot wait to see todaysrace.
