To be fair, there'll be more changes if it doesn't dry up.

Well that's about as bad as possible. Let's hope for another safety car! Let’s hope not, it would probably drop Lando out of the points completely

Looked to me like he got spooked by Charles on his inside.

Need to get Piastri out the way now.

There may be one more opportunity to do something meaningful by swapping early to dry tyres. Otherwise I think the Champ is done (if it wasn't already). The Maccas just don't seem to have the straight line speed to overtake anyone.

It is amazing how Perez continues to make things look so so difficult.

Was hoping the title would at least go to AD for some drama but done in Vegas now I think.

Doesn't look like McLaren had the pace anyway to be fair. Maybe if Max had stayed bottled up a win was possible, but they've both got clear air in front of them and aren't fast in these conditions.

Well I think that’s that then.
Max was on fire and McLaren were their own worst enemy again.

Yeah the drivers championship is very much over.

Unfortunately I just think sport happened to them today.
Without Colapinto's crash I think Lando would've got away at the front and perhaps would've built up enough of a gap. Just bad luck. Lando's mistake cost two places though.
However it's increasingly obvious they didn't have the fastest car this weekend. Max looked fastest yesterday as well let's not forget.

I just don’t think there was any reason to bring Norris in then, rather than just wait and see how that rain played out. Seemed stupid at the time and even more stupid now.

Maybe the fact that other than when it was very wet, no one could overtake on Inters without DRS is something that needs looking at? Especially as this is a track that is very racey in the dry. Quite strange.
Equally may just be the unusual fact that parc ferme started later at a time when everyone 'knew' the race was going to be wet and stuck on a load of downforce.

Verstappen might still have won it mind you. Guy was straight up rapid today.

Very hard to know. He was certainly able to pass in the early stages, but he also got stuck behind Leclerc and others as it dried up.
Fair play, he had the pace and Red Bull made the right calls, but there's was a healthy slice of luck in there, just as they had bad luck yesterday.

Fuck me, he's told to reverse but he just drives forward instead, hell he doesn't even attempt to spin it as he's on tarmac.
The engineer sounded like a driving test examiner, the next thing he'd probably have said was "I'm sorry to tell you Mr Stroll but you have not passed your driving test today."

Can’t deny what Max achieved today. Absolutely pulled everyone’s pants down there. Even the pundits.

A shame for Norris, but he wasn’t on form yesterday. A number of costly little mistakes. Luck wasn’t on his side either, but you can tell he has some pressure management he needs to work on. Hopefully from this point onward the team just focuses on the constructors title and nabbing that. They absolutely deserve it.
Maybe drop the team orders too, so Piastri doesn’t develop a frustration that grows into next season.

Maybe drop the team orders too, so Piastri doesn’t develop a frustration that grows into next season. There's just too many errors that creep in, particularly when put under pressure. This season could have been his best ever shot though, in F1 you never quite know whats round the corner performance wise and Piastri is certainly going to cause him problems.

Much as I'm in the Anyone But Max camp, if Norris somehow managed to limp over the line I don't think he'd feel like a "worthy" champion any more than Bumper Cars Verstappen would for me.
It's just nice to have a bit of a shakeup, with the top three (or four if Merc can pull their heads out of their arses) manufacturers potentially looking good for next season.

At least he has been made to work for it for the first time in years.
The number of different winners and decent races has been refreshing as well.
Next season should be fun

I think there's an element of RB have been in this position multiple times. They know what to do strategy wise.

Yeah I do think Norris will be stronger next year, he's been pretty bloody good this year but ultimately Max has been a bit better. Similarly Red Bull have got more strategic calls right than McLaren. They deserve it more. They should really have the WCC too.
Frankly you'd expect this from a more mature driver and team. It's also never really been a title fight as we commonly think of them. Max has never had a single race win margin to put the pressure on.
Lando has made very few big mistakes, I'm struggling to think of any clangers? However he's made numerous small ones and been punished severely in terms of dropped points almost every time. Cumulatively they meant that he never really created enough pressure on Max.
That's just sport and I'm sure he'll learn from it as he's honest with himself.

Also think the second phase of starts needs looking at for next year. He and Oscar often get off the line well and then lose out in second phase to Red Bull and Merc.
Is that a driver error thing, or a technique thing or a car thing? Either way it's cost them several times this year, especially earlier on (before their revised rear wings) when they often had pace but couldn't show it as they were stuck in traffic.
Yesterday was actually a return to that first half of season issue because they stuck that barn door rear wing on. Seemingly more than those around them.
Plenty for them to ruminate on and rectify.

Question: I just watched the post race press conference and Max jokingly asked where the British press was (great moment 😁). Is it true that they did not attend? If so then that would be pathetic and disgraceful. I can understand that they're disappointed, but come on!
