I have done my first prestige and am at level 20 on the way back through. I'm trying to get each mastery to gold so it's getting harder as I go because my weapons are getting steadily harder to use. Dreading doing the lmg's as I will have to learn to be patient. I think you tend to rush through this stuff but I’m slow as hell - as soon as possible I make a load of custom classes and assign a primary weapon to each, and try to mix them up. Every time I get a level on a weapon, I respawn with the next class and so on. The point to this waffle is I have a class with the first Russkie LMG and it actually worked really well in Core. It handles pretty well and is not inaccurate in short bursts. I don’t tend to sprint with them and that’s that. I find Hardpoint one of the best modes for levelling weapons as it’s just a mm absolute bullet fest in defined small spaces so you never have to hunt for the kill! Battle passes will be going live in a week I think, so remember we get our sweet, sweet weapon XP tokens too. |

I need to try the Zombies mode over the weekend.
I’m really enjoying it all, although I did slightly prefer the MP on the previous game a bit more, though the maps are very good on this. I do think it’s missing a few larger maps for big team groundwar type stuff.

Started the Campaign this afternoon, managed to do the Safe Cracker with some assistance. Am I right in saying you just need to replay the missions to earn some money to pay for the blueprints on offer? I've paid for the 3 Upgrades so anything else is now fully on the Blueprint grind.

No, you shouldn't need to. When you get a signal close message, find the radio near it. That gives you the code to open the safest which gives you a grand. I easily had money to get the blueprints with no need to replay.

I'm with drakeypoos for the multiple classes with different weapons. Some have different secondaries i.e. breaking out the missiles for if there's a lot of uav action etc.
I can only take an hour or so of the main multiplayer though. I miss DMZ quite a bit, but haven't tried warzone yet.

The goblin ar is absolutely amazing for hardcore btw.

OMsoddingG the mission in the drained pool with the angry metal mickey and all the zombies can fuck right off. One of my bugbears with the single player so far is the shit checkpointing. Sick of watching that intro sequence each time I randomly explode from something I couldn’t see because it’s pitch black.

I completely agree with both ‘cruncher and Jambo on the boss battles and I think that level is a real low point of the game.
Follow Frog’s advice - find an LMG - and get through it.
There is another very long sequence with psych elements later on but it’s very well done IMO and has some decent easy puzzling and drives the narrative. And is broken up by more standard stuff. If you are only after military/spy stuff it may annoy you but I did like it.
I had a go on Zombies yesterday. I’m not sure I will get on with it. There’s literally no hand holding but the swarms are such that doing trial and error becomes difficult, particularly when other players start running off.
My approach would always be to try to unlock everything in a given area and then branch off from there. It strikes me that with the exfil mechanic it’s going to be a significant time investment and it could do with a tutorial.
I think I once ‘finished’ a Zombies and it was whichever game had Alcatraz in it. It felt a lot more compact and I wish they’d go back to this really. It probably is one where you would benefit from having a team with comms

I'm a complete noob when it comes to Zombies. I was playing online and we got up to level 20 odd, and no one wanted to trigger the end. So, we're just shooting wave upon wave for just grinding. Great fun.. absolutely why I can't be arsed to play online. In the end I had to leave and forfeited all my bonus etc.

That’s why after the campaign the MP is the draw - but I love the idea of Zombies - just not always the implementation.
I had a go at a mode called Control yesterday I haven’t tried before - that was cool. Basically taking turns to attack and defend two points, with limited respawns. Always find it more engaging when there is something to fight for rather than just running around going pew pew

Exactly what I've done, Perk Greed to be able to get 3 reds/greens/blues to get the Specialist, and then chuck on Ghost/Flak Jacket etc as a boost on top. Doesn't take long to get your guns back, and also anything you unlock with a Blueprint is already there. It's worth playing through the Campaign as you'll get 4 blueprints from there, 3 of them for 1000 coins each and then a Sniper blueprint 2 missions before the final one. |
