And the sometimes you can crouch, sometimes you can’t, sometimes you can jump, sometimes… etc, it does feel old fashioned.

I’ve just finished the level that was like a level from control but if I made it. That was painfully bad, I was almost angry playing it. Roughly how far in am I? If I’m nearing the end I’ll carry on. The times I enjoy cod games the most is the slower tense mission with some crazy bits. Like modern warfare 1 by the og infinity ward team. This shit is just a bad marvel movie in a Michael bay military skin.

Yeah that mission was incredibly jarring as it started quite interesting then absolutely shat the bed into a very unsubtle asset reuse with something that completely abandoned the tone of what Black Ops is let alone CoD. |

We aren't great or anything and mostly sit around the 1.3 to 1.5 kd ratio in multiplayer.

If that’s the preferred mode I’ll have to stick with randoms for now. Also need to work out how to make this Discord thing work - there doesn’t seem to be a native app for it but it may work through Edge. Not sure if that can run in the background of a game though? All very confusing! I’d be up for trying Zombies at some point. Haven’t touched that yet. Full addiction cycle has kicked in now, fuck it I love this game. Although…periodically getting a bug tonight - enter a match, screen black, but can hear the match around me and control it (including fragging myself). |

You should be able to join a discord natively on your Xbox. It's oddly easier on Xbox than on playstation despite it being partly owned by them

Well first mission and set up a little intriguing with expected good shooting but the structure of the game/launcher is so dumb, means even campaign completely breaks in quick resume. That's an instant and massive black mark. I probably would have chipped away at the campaign but not with that. Nonsense.
And from what is now a Microsoft studio. Truly baffling.

When it was trying to be control/left4dead it was dreadful like 2-3/10 but the snow level, casino level etc were good fun and more like a solid 7. So I guess about 5/10. At least they tried to do something a bit different and at least it had level variety. |

There have been hallucinatory sequences in, I think every Black Ops game. Some have been better than others. I do agree the zombie one in this was really poor. However the other one (assuming this is the ‘Control’ reference - I never played that) I really enjoyed. It looked great, added to the narrative and I also loved the less than subtle nod to Stranger Things 4 with Vecna’s clock sound.

I have done my first prestige and am at level 20 on the way back through. I'm trying to get each mastery to gold so it's getting harder as I go because my weapons are getting steadily harder to use. Dreading doing the lmg's as I will have to learn to be patient.
